With 2 simple words "sales" and "customer service", it's actually the journey to become the CEO & started from how to understand customers. In IT, sometimes we think too much about the adaptation of the latest technology and forget about who will use it, there are others which the way they think is not necessarily the same as us (technical people). Sometimes too proud of "we use this programming language, we use that technology" but none buys. In fact during business pitching, most of customers do not really care how we make it, they just want the benefits (save time, save money, & make money) and supported by the best quality. So this is the platform to learn things that can't be obtained in the classroom.
