Admiral Cheng Ho has visited the archipelago in Indonesia for seven times. When he went to Samudera Pasai in 1414 AD, on his fourth visit, he gave the giant "Cakradonya" bell as a gift of Emperor Yongle, the Chinese ruler, to Sultan Samudra Pasai. The bells have become symbols of the friendship of Aceh and China since the 15th century. Currently, the bells are kept well in Banda Aceh Museum. The existence of this bell is the main attraction for tourists who visit the Museum.
