Carl Jung was a young psychiatrist in Zurich when he read Freud's Interpretation of Dream shortly after it was published in 1900. Karna Jung was impressed by Freud's ideas, which he used and tested in his own practice, so Jung sent Freud copies of writing -the writings, which generally support Freud's view. In 1906 a regular correspondence began between the two, and the following year Jung visited Freud in Vienna for the first time where they chatted uninterruptedly for 13 hours! Freud decides that Junglah will be his successor, his "crown son" as he wrote to Jung.
When the International Psychonalitical Association was founded in 1910, Jung became the first chairman, a post he held until 1914. In 1909, Freud and Jung traveled together to Clark University in Worchester, Massachusetts, both invited to deliver a series of lectures at the 20th anniversary the establishment of the university. However, 3 years later, the personal relationship between Freud and Jung began to cool until finally in early 1913 they ended a personal correspondence and a few months later the correspondence on job matters also ended. In April 1914, Jung placed the chair of the association, and in August, 1914, he withdrew from membership.
The split has reached its peak. Freud and Jung never see each other again. There are numerous reports of freud and jung relations including their own reports (Freud, 1949, 1925, jung, 1961), freud authors, ernest jones (1955), and others (Weigert, 1942, Dry, 1961) . Articles published during the junks are still freud influenced, and his criticism later on freud psychoanalysis is published together with the Colledted works 4 series vol. Two other articles on freud are included in volume 15. The correspondence between freud and jung numbering 395 pieces, during the years 1906-1913 has been published (McGuire, 1974).
Although the cause of the previously familiar split of relationships is complex and highly principal, it encompasses various mismatches in both personality and intellectual outlook, but one important reason is the rejection of junks against frued sexualism. "The main reason is that Freud identifies his method with the sex theory, which I find unacceptable" (personal communication of the junks, 1954). Jung began to develop his own psychoanalytic theory and psychotherapeutic method that became famous as an analytical psychology whose lines had been placed before his encounter with freud and which he consistently developed during his union with freud (jung, 1913).
