Dan Narkotika masuk Ke wilayah Indonesia berasal dari 11 Negara dan dikendalikan 72 Jaringan. Namun sejumlah besar jaringan narkotika itu berasal dari Afrika Barat, Iran, Tiongkok, Pakistan, Malaysia dan sejumlah negara di Eropa. (www.regional.Kompas.com).
Pencinta barang haram tersebut tidak semata kalangan menengah keatas, namun kalangan akar rumput banyak terjerumus kedalmnya. Begitujuga dengan usia bersifat masif, anak- anak, remaja dan orang tua tidak luput terjerat kasus baik pemakaian, hingga peredaran gelap Narkoba.
Maraknya kasus Narkoba, tulisa Say No To Drugs pun banyak kita jumpai, terpanpang baik di balinho, maupun papan – papan pengumuman lainyanya. Bahkan berbagai upaya dilakukan pemerintah Republik Indonesia (RI), untuk menekan peredaran gelap narkoba salah satunya (P4GN) Pencegahan dan Pemberantasan Penyalahgunaan Dan Peredaran Gelap Narkoba, disamping program Rebilitasi bagi pecandu narkoba. Namun langkah ini belum memberikan hasil signifikan.

Provinsi Aceh
Indonesia ditetapkan sebagai daerah darurat narkoba, jumlah kematian akibat Narkoba di Indonesia mencapai 50 orang per hari. Dengan jumlah pecandu Narkoba di Indonesia mencapai 5 juta jiwa dari 257,9 juta jiwa jumlah penduduk Negara tersebut. (www.antaranews.com)
Dari Total jumlah Pencandu di Indonesia, Provinsi Aceh, menepati peringkat kedelapan penyalah gunan Narkoba. Dan Rangking Pertama Produsen Ganja dari 33 Provinsi di Indonesia. Disamping itu maraknya kasus peredaran gelap Narkoba juga terlihat dari penghuni Lembaga Pemasyarakatan di Aceh, 82 persen di isi oleh Narapidana tersandung kasus Narkotika. Data tersebut disampaikan Komandan Korem 011 Lilawangsa Lhokseumawe Kolonel Inf Hipdizah pada peringatan, Hari Anti Narkoba International (HANI) 2014 Silam.

Would it interest you to know that the "war on drugs" originally launched in the 1970s in the USA - was actually a scam intended to consolidate power in favor of the US Government's globalist war ambitions?
I write about it here.
Of course this doesn't necessarily mean that your efforts in Indonesia are equally tainted in political expedience - but it should give pause as to whether things are being done the right way.

And I have also read your article about "war on drugs" and that is very interesting.
But in Indonesia I see it, this drug restriction is without politic as far as I know. Honestly I tell you. Even in Indonesia for the drug business here hanged even, the great bandar who had died in their executions were foreigners outside of indonsia.
But there is a point, drug crime is also ridden by the politics of certain groups but that is only a small part of the provinces in the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia. And it has little impact on drug eradication in my country.
And lastly I am very happy if you can share articles on drugs in the World, and this could be a reference for my next article about drugs. good luck @pathforger James Cauchi

I do not pretend to have any knowledge of the political landscape in Indonesia. Many variables are undoubtedly different: The culture, the power structures, demographics, etc.
I would be pleasantly surprised if there is 'no' political motive behind the war on drugs in Indonesia. It is a lot easier to speak reason to a party whose pockets are not lined in gold and blood.
I feel deeply complimented that you feel that my article is worth referencing. It is the first of a series of three articles (2nd & 3rd linked respectively) with the later two focused upon solution.
The war on drugs has been failing in America for almost 50 years. Indonesia can do better if they choose a different path.
