Kuda Lumping, Traditional and Extreme Dance From Indonesia

Kuda lumping or Kuda Kepang is a traditional art that comes from the island of Java, Indonesia. This dance gives meaning to a group of horsemen in the battlefield. This dance does not use real horses, but uses a fake horse made of woven bamboo.

Usually, this dance not only shows the horsemen, but will be added with extreme performances, such as eating glass shards, immunity, and other magical performances. It happens, because it is pointed out that the dancers will experience the possessed spirit spirit, so that the power of the dancers to be increased.

Kuda lumping dance symbolizes the spirit of heroism and military aspect of a kavelari. This can be seen from the movements shown by the dancers are lively, harmonious, and aggressive.
