Luwak Coffee - the rarest and most expensive coffee in the World! I took a tour in the spice fields of Bali and we were told that it sells for $60 per cup in high end restaurants in the US. In Ubud, where it is made, it sells for $15 per cup. If you sample a cup at the spice fields, you will get the best price you will ever find at just $5 per cup! So what makes it so expensive? Kopi luwak, or civet coffee, is coffee that includes part-digested coffee cherries eaten and defecated by the Asian palm civet. Producers of the coffee beans argue that the process may improve coffee through two mechanisms, selection and digestion. So, for the adventurous with extra cash, why not try some poop coffee?
