The Dayak Unique Rituals

Fortunately, Indonesia has a variety of tribes and cultures. One of them is the custom of Dayak tribe who became one of the tourist enthusiasts either in the country or abroad to come. Culture Dayak tribe is very unique and of course different, and identical with the supernatural world. And fun again, the culture is still maintained to this day. Tariu Ceremony

Conducted by a commander of the Dayak tribe who to start the war by calling the spirits of the ancestors. At the ritual, the commander will send a "red bowl" as a sign of the commencement of a war. This red bowl will be delivered to the villages if the commander feels his tribe is in great danger. In his ritual, the panglimaakan is possessed by the spirit of the ancestors who will give him great power. As for the armies, who hear the mantras chanted as the ritual takes place, will be possessed and gained the same power and become powerful. While the soul is shaky and doubt will immediately fall ill or become insane. According to the story in circulation, this ritual just happened several times, one of them when the Japanese colonial era first.

Ceremony of Manajah Antang

Rituals performed while facing war. Dayak tribe will perform this ceremony to find clues where the existence of a clever enemy once berstrategi. In this ceremony also ask the spirit of ancestral spirit by using Antang birds. After that the bird will tell where the enemy is. In addition, this ceremony can also be done to find directions.

Tiwah Ceremony

Ceremony performed to deliver the bones of Dayak tribe who have died. In this ceremony, there will be many rituals, dances and sounds of traditional Dayak musical instruments. The purpose of this ritual is to deliver the bones of the dead to the ancestral spirits, to be preserved in the wild. After the ritual is complete, the bones will be placed in a small house made specifically for the dead, or commonly called a stumbling block. This ceremony is very sacred with the accompaniment of traditional music so solemn.
