I spotted this paper wasp nest on my walk today. Torn open like this, I assume it's an old one. The wasps build these papery looking structures by mixing dead plant fibers with saliva.

Definitely! I helped remove one from a friend's house one dark evening, using wasp killer. We sprayed from about 10 feet away and I'm not sure I would describe its seething rage as as buzz or a sizzle.
