Spiritual care: Say to wisdom, ´You are my sister,´ and to insight, ´You are my relative´. Proverbs 7:4

The book of Proverbs gives us many simple advices to live and avoid the dangers that come in our path in life, because many times things are not as they appear, and it is difficult to foresee the consequences of our actions: "For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind." Hosea 8:7.
Wisdom takes all these things into account and seeks to lead us on the path of true happiness and excellence. The truly intelligent man, the book of Proverbs tells us, seeks wisdom above all things and directs his actions always keeping it in mind.
And the book of Proverbs tells us about a spiritual care that we must have if we want to be truly wise, adultery, and the sin that breeds it, lust. And about adultery and lust, they are so serious for the life of man, that there is a special commandment in the Law of Moses referring to this: "You shall not covet your neighbor's wife" Deuteronomy 5:21. The sins of man are all born of concupiscence and we must always be attentive to it, even those who are wiser, the person who is tempted sooner or later falls.
Because of lust many powerful men have fallen, like Samson with Delilah, the woman who cut his hair, taking away his strength; or how Holofernes, a cruel man who deeply despised the people of Israel, died beheaded by Judith. These cases show us that prudence is not enough, and we must always ask for God's grace to lead us along the path of righteousness.
Wisdom is not stupid, and insight is light to intelligence; and the wise in his wisdom seek to teach and defend life, that is why the book of Proverbs tells us:
"My son, keep my words
and store up my commands within you.
Keep my commands and you will live;
guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.
Bind them on your fingers;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Say to wisdom, ´You are my sister,´
and to insight, ´You are my relative.´
They will keep you from the adulterous woman,
from the wayward woman with her seductive words" Proverbs 7:1-5.
