Insomnia and trying to sleep better + some tips

in insomnia •  5 years ago

I still have trouble sleeping well, the cool thing is that at least I notice how often I wake up during the night I wake up at least 3 times this last month every day. I change positions every time and I wake up, it stills takes me time to go to sleep is impossible to know exactly how much but it takes me between 30 min to 1 hour to sleep, I improve a lot I think due to the fact I'm practicing meditation and I'm regulating my nervous system little by little, but nonetheless the fact that I wake up 3 times and it takes me time then to go back to sleep again in each moment is kind of annoying.

I decided to start following some steps that I will be sharing in one big article on my website about how to sleep better. I will mention some of the info here, however:

-Dark environment.
-Meditation
-Doing the same activities before sleeping.
-Building a habit (sleeping at the same hour)
-Not doing anything in bed (just sleeping) * I still do stuff in bed like exercises I don't have space :D will be getting a mat soon.

I was doing meditation before sleeping but I think it was a mistake at least from my subjective experience I closed my eyes and I was lying down on the floor and meditating, then when I wanted to go to sleep I felt like I did not want too (it trigger something in my brain) that took me more time to get to sleep and more effort frankly speaking.

I will not be making the same mistake and I will try to meditate with and straight shoulder, but that is also another problem too for me at least in my case it creates a lot of acidity on my stomach when I'm sitting down with and straight back at least in the positions of meditation I will try to meditate having something in my back to support like my office chair and I will not close my eyes this time, I think I will try this and see what happens.
