BLACK COBRA.. LESSONS FOR US

in inspiration •  7 years ago

I just saw this old movie "BLACK COBRA" for the first time. I felt the strong urge to share it's lessons, especially in our today's fight against RACISM. Let us review some characters in the movie.

Hate is a canker that will also eat up the hater. The white power advocates who were first headed by a leader who claimed His intents were just to advocate peaceful separation as against violence, only built an ideology that later claimed His life by His own "church members". Little did he know that he was recruiting his own killers all because of color bias.

The Sheriff was at a point playing safe, that is by the books and things were obviously going wrong by the seconds until He was directly assaulted, at that point the books had to be "written on".

The Asian martial artist (protagonist), at a very skilled and responsive level taught the white power advocates powerful lessons through His fight back approach.

The black Reverend of course paid the ultimate price of victimisation and maim and the Church(church of God) suffered some set back.

The characters as highlighted are reflected even today. Race supremacy, colour hate as the case may be are still very much around us. White hating black, Black hating white, superiority complex, etc. All these will only take humanity a million years backward for every one hundred years progress made.

If you are in the class of hate, nepotism, racism or even chauvinism, you think you have an ideology taking you somewhere, you will be no more different from the White power advocates as characterized in the movie BLACK COBRA. You are only expressing your inferiority complex before perceived superior fellows, fueled by hateful dispositions that can only destroy you. Hate is like a virus, Kills it's host and moves on to the next host. Nothing good will ever come out of such deplorable level of schism. See how the self engineered succeeding "pastor"of the white power "church" was killed by hate, even after being shown love by the Asian martial artist who had him at his mercy.

If you are paying lip service to the evils of racism, chauvinism, remember what goes around comes around. The finger that is dipped into the palm oil, ends up soiling the other fingers. The Sheriff never took proactive measures until it was almost late. Speak out and act out the right. The world is as bad as it is today because more good people are irresponsive and irresponsible in the face of adversity.

We have to take up the ideology of the martial artist, who did not want trouble but was able to manage it when it inevitably came. He was not revengeful but more on the corrective side as he tried hard not to kill like the other disoriented fellas. What are we doing today individually and collectively to tactfully and correctively fight schism. Are we responsibly proactive or destructively reactive?

Let us strive to avert more ill fated " black Reverends". Let the victims be a testimony to stopping this virus eating out humanity. We can only heal the world with love, and this The Asian martial artist achieved with the rest of the White Power advocates.

If stones could turn into diamonds, sands into quartz, if worms could turn into butterflies, then LOVE can turn the world for good. Let us set aside all forms of division and together we make the world a better place.
