These Steemians Have Found the Answer! #DolphinSchool Bootcamp Rewards Day 1!

in inspiration •  7 years ago  (edited)

FREEEEEDOOOOOMMMMMM!!!

That's why I came to Steemit. So many platforms have so many rules and in addition to that, I can get paid? Sign me up!

When I got here, things were much easier

We weren't facing 3 new posts a second, or, one new user every 15 seconds. It was busy, but it was manageable. The whales were just being invented and they were active. They'd talk to you, upvote you, encourage you. They hadn't forgotten what this place represents yet, other than $$$$$$

To be fair, there are still some really awesome large account holders here! I know that. And, I don't fault them for loaning, or renting their SP and just taking the interest.

But, when I came back two months ago, I didn't know what was going on.

I'd gotten a pretty good handle on the place in the beginning, I thought. Made some really good money pretty fast, and I thought I could just reboot and jump back to the top again. It's been harder than I anticipated.

Statistically, any post with 2 votes, is above average!

So, in that regard, I'm doing okay. All of my posts get some payout, if not much. So, as I struggled to reinvent myself here, I looked around. I recognized there were a lot of hard workers getting very little recognition and I wanted to do something about it. So, I started #Dolphinschool Bootcamp, to help struggling Plankton and Minnows survive long enough to even fully participate.

I really had no idea the struggle they were facing with borrowed steem and low bandwidth, which wasn't a major issue for those of us 18 mos ago, even with a free account. But, I've got an awesome group and I wanted to do something for the, so this is the first of ten posts, with half of whatever revenue is earned, going to the 5 top authors each day that impress me the most with their work.

Without further ado, I give #DolphinSchool Bootcamp Review DAY 1

If you'd like to see what the assigment is all about, you can go here. And see the requirements. I'll be featuring the five #DolphinSchool Authors I feel hit a home run with their posts!

Following the featured authors, I'm including links to the other 14 posts, because all of these steemians deserve your support!

Bootcamp Participants!

I want to say how proud I am of you. So, rather than just blog about it, I'm adding a video. Sorry, I didn't trim my beard, or get enough sleep before doing this. But, here it is!

In no particular order, here are today's Revenue share posts!

@Lilyraabe created a great post, with some wonderful personal photos of theatrical productiions. She has a vision for funding the arts through steemit. What an idea!

Why This Artist Started Using Steemit

.

@Donjyde wrote a prose piece about the way we use time. Some excellent thoughts, and beautiful preview pic. I especially like his opening line.
.

How Time Flies, That You Are Just The Pilot
.

.

@Makingthebest09 Took a musical approach and shared some really interesting jazz, along with a poetic prose piece! A nice view into his private life.

Last Night @Supermeatboy Saved My Life

.

@Mandelsage Wrote a cool tribute to some steemians that we should be looking to for inspiration. I may be biased, I'm mentioned.
.

Three Artists and Writers Worthy of My and Your Follow
.

@Magicalmoonlight gave us a peak inside the life of a Steemit minnow and shared some of her insight.

2 Cents From a Minnow

It was a tough choice to cut the revenue share off at just 5!

But, with ten days of bootcamp, hopefully each participant will get featured once or twice.

That's now to say the others didn't do some fantastic work. If you take the time to experience the remaining posts, please, take the time to leave a comment. They've worked hard, under a deadline and done some outstanding job!!

My first article ever outside of college was here on Steemit. It was written, as was everything else I've done here until recently, on a phone. My whole story it's long as it's yours I'm sure. But why I'm here is only slightly to share my story but also promote good causes. My partner and I run @sharingsociety but I do so as I myself need to find shelter still each and everyday. In sobriety I find strength but I also find myself often needing to ask for help each day. I just took a job with the City but tomorrow again that is second inline after finding shelter. I work hard and write every night afterwards. I do so for therapy as much as filling a seemingly bottomless pit. I live in the mountains of Colorado and shelter this time of year is mandatory. My first article here saved my life. This is it: https://steemit.com/hope/@adamrant/frankly-i-don-t-give-a-shit
I love writing now. I plan to educate myself in the art of as soon as I can afford to. Thank you sir. Foul language is contained if that bothers you I apologize. In the mountains we are like pirates that have never seen boats.

Steemit offers my last hope.

Followed you and @sharingsociety. Keep on keepin’ on! :)

Solid! Thank you! I'll be watching you too...

Wow! I'm blown away by your raw honesty and courage in telling it like it is, no holding back or sugar coating. The adversity you've faced and survived, well I'm gobsmacked, and yet I still feel a positive vibe in your writing. My philosophy is and always has been 'no judgement', which can be difficult at times, but if I don't know the whole story, I should just keep my mouth shut. Anyway, I wish you positive success both online and off, I also use my phone for Steemit but I use MarkdownX, free on playstore, which makes it a lot easier!

I'm going to download MarkdownX next thing I do. I really appreciate comments that pertain to the subject and therefore your time. Comments are something I was wrong to assume I'd receive more of considering I refuse to speak (write) as if there is a definitive one way. I'll take the highway if that's ever the case. Tonight I'll read through your blog and I'll also be posting another article. Talk to you sooner than later.... Love at ya

You're slamming? I like it! Language is my passion, don't tell the teacher I'm secretively slipping these words to you in passing. I'm still learning, devouring the whole experience, it's cool, there's always distractions, stay warm in your essence and know we're all connected <3

Love that word “gobsmacked!” Going to try to find a way to use it in homework 3!

English has the most quirky words! Mollycoddle is another great one.

Wow! Thank you so much for mentioning my post! So awesome--and SO HARD because quite a few of my favorites didn’t even make the top 5 (there’s some great content in there y’all!). Congrats to everyone. I think I’ve followed all of you now?

Yep, but if I went any smaller, this wouldn't mean much. I could do all of you at 4%, but then I wouldn't be able to do this again! LOL

Great one

Thanks! Thanks for your vote!

Woot! Thank you for choosing my article! I agree with @lilyraabe, so many good first posts there, I'm really glad I'm not the one having to choose! ;)

I also enjoyed the second assignment, and am looking forward to the third already! ^^

Off to bed with me now. Thanks again.

THANKS! See you tomorrow!

Congratulations to everyone on a very successful first day! :)

Thanks, JC! It's been really fun so far.

Thank you very much @jcedwards. It's been nice to see this project grow. I'm glad to see you stopped by to see how us participants are making out so far. @markrmorrisjr is putting us to work! The knowledge he has given us so far is incredible! I highly recommend checking the post he writes each day if you haven't done so already.
@magicalmoonlight

Hi there! I'm a regular follower of @markrmorrisjr, so I read all of his posts every day. I'm not participating in this, but I've been doing a lot of reading on what all of you are doing in the Boot Camp - it's fascinating! Can't wait to see what everyone does tomorrow! Best of luck, and have fun! :)

This post has received a 1.27 % upvote from @booster thanks to: @angelm.

Awesome contribution.

Well, thankyou @envi.sage I really appreciate you stopping by! Come back any time. We'll be doing this for the next nine days. Would you consider resteeming it?

Absolutely, the more eyes the better. Show us the best that can happen!

That's up to each of us!

Whoa, very well said @markrmorrisjr! It was because of you that gave us the motivation and the knowledge we have learned in just 2 days. I am beyond grateful. I've met so many great people who have the same motivation that I have been looking for here on Steemit. I truly didn't join just for the money, I was so inspired by the Steemit community. It's very awesome for you to help us out like this. You have joined together the classmates. We now look out for each other's work daily and engage in conversations. I don't think that will end after this course. At least I hope not.

Well, I truly hope no one joined just for the money, because we haven't gotten much yet! LOL

I was talking about Steemit. Lol No, not this course. I solely joined this to help gain knowledge to use on Steemit. I can't speak for the others but I'm sure that's the case for them too.

It would be slightly epic if these posts went viral and we hit the top of trending.

I've really been working on paying it forward lately, so I've been doing everything I can to make dolphin school successful for you. As a way to pay you back for your time. I hope it hits trending as well and then you can carry on #dolphinschool long after this group is done. Imagine the response and rewards you'll get if this course continues to grow!

I figure if you ever DO want to make money you need to know how to work the platform. There is a lot to learn, and there seem to be endless options so it’s nice to have structure that encourages best practices and is long enough to help develop good habits! Woot!

@markrmorrisjr. You asked for my assignment on my blog.

What’s the best that can happen? Upvoted and resteemed.

Thank you! I will add a link to this piece in the review post for today. It may be in the morning.

Thanks @markrmorrisjr. Your boot camp is going great guns.

Well, I'm having fun. Thanks for playing.

Thank you for the time and effort you have put in to all of us. :) It really is appreciated.

You have no idea how much it means to me to have "students' again. I loved teaching.

Now I am encouraged. Alas I can be a voice on Steemit. Thank you @markrmorrisjr

Everybody is doing such a great job! This is really uplifting, motivating, and encouraging to see and be a part of! Now, Back to Work!!!!

YAY! (stop distracting me, I'm trying to review the homework and get my own fiction posts up for the day!) LOL

Hi @markrmorrisjr, thanks for sharing that awesome work. I couldn't find a link to the application though.

If you'd like to see what the assigment is all about, you can go here. And see the requirements.

What application? For Dolphinschool? There's not an application, yet. but maybe next time. It was originally just a series of posts I did when I first got here and hit it big with my fiction. I'll just put up a sign up post when I'm ready to go again. This one, right now, is a full time gig. I need to delegate some stuff, I think.

No problem. I was just under the impression that you forgot to add a link in the "...you can go here" section.
I'll be on the lookout!

Free Doom? I'll take it

Oh, you got jokes, huh? Nice.

Not really just that one and this one.

Two fish are in a tank one turns to the other and says "Do you know how to drive this thing?"

@markrmorrisjr

The #dolphinschool was exactly what I was looking for to expand my skills and learn more about Steemit.. I went online specifically to find help to learn more so that I could grow! Thank you for offering #dolphinschool and challenging us with the boot camp activities. They’re kicking my tail but I have learned SO MUCH.. in just two days!
