After freeing free the adulterous woman somewhere near the Mount of Olives, Jesus went to the Temple to teach. In those days, the Jews still had great trouble believing in Jesus. Thus, while teaching them He declared to them that He had come from Heaven and was greater than Abraham. For this, the people picked stones to kill Him.
Well, His time to die had not yet come. Thus, the record of John says that he escaped. While escaping, He and His disciples bumped into a man who was born blind! It seems, in the Jewish culture, either him (the man born blind) or his parents had sinned. And that could have been the reason why he was born blind!
Many years had passed. His neighborhood knew him as a beggar, perhaps like those we often meet in the streets of Lusaka. You see, the nature of flesh, we tend to look down on those we feel are lower than us.
But Alas! When Jesus saw Him, it was another picture. With Jesus, neither he nor his parents had sinned. HE WAS BORN BLIND FOR A PURPOSE. That GOD’S power should be manifested!
Hey, I don’t think it is necessary for us to start thinking that GOD enjoys seeing sufferings. Uhhhh, I suggest that we look at from this angle. God knows our situations. But He cannot work on them until we have an encounter with Him.
So you could be in that mess for a purpose, and until you have an encounter with Him, His power will be manifest!
