Growing up, many things and people easily fascinated me. I sometime thought these things and people had some magical effect on my happiness and smiles hence my vulnerability to be easily amused by them. I really don’t know how they did what they did but they always did get the plug to activate my smiles and happiness. Although not magical as I may have perceived them to be, I am pretty sure they were special. Hence, my reason to keep living and striving through each day of childhood.
A smile is usually a big expression denoting pleasure, happiness, amusement, contentment, sociability and inner peace as many may describe it. I shall simply put that a smile is the daintiest cloth you might want to put on anytime to boost your self-esteem or confidence.
It is the little things or people in your life that make you smile and happy. From waking up to read a lovely text from your lover, eating your favorite food, finding money on the street, getting a like from a social media, hearing your favorite song being played, looking at family photos and even meeting an old but annoying friend.
However, what actually makes a person smile or happy is usually very personal to them. While some people may take seconds to tell you what makes them smile and who makes them happy, others may take forever to even figure out what precisely makes them smile or who makes them happy.
Couple of weeks ago after sharing a post from my Resume GH page on Facebook to my timeline, I decided to take time to preview my news feed. While I was on it, I came across a post from Unspoken Smiles Foundation shared by a friend (Godwin Attigah) which read: what makes you smile? Who makes you happy?
For a moment, I began to ply back into memories to find out exactly what makes me smile and who exactly makes me happy. In my immediate reminiscing moment, so many little things came rushing up to me coupled with the beautiful smiles of many people who makes me happy and cause me to smile.
For some reasons I couldn’t ascertain the precise thing or person that makes me happy or smile because my happiness and smiles are not entirely contingent on one particular thing or person but rather it is largely influence by the little things in my immediate world that can make the magic just like when I was growing up.
I have grown to comprehend and believe that true happiness comes from within and it is largely influenced by many little factors in our immediate visions. Hence, the necessity to happy yourself since nobody can make you feel exactly what you want to feel unless you give them a clue.
Many will come into your life today and go out the next day. Things will rush into you and out in the opposite direction because of certain unforeseen circumstances.
However, the people who come into your life to stay or the things that are perpetually occurring in your life to make you happy as well as put smiles on your sweet face are the reasons you wish to keep living and always praying to your “maker” to grant you another day to see, experience and hear from them.
Our desire to stay alive for the people we love and those who makes us happy conversely makes it undisputable that we have a charge to keep each day of our lives. A charge to affect someone’s smiles and happiness with a little golden deed and a charge to glorify our “creator”.
Have you ever reasoned around why certain people considered “weak” kill themselves over love?
Well, I believe they are not weak at all. I believe they lost the reason and focus to keep living. I believe their choice of death is actually to send a message to whomever it may concern that they took away their reason for wanting to live forever. I believe they might as well be regretting the actions they took since the people they killed themselves for didn’t actually deserve it. I believe you need to keep reminding yourself each day the reason you’re alive. This is because each day is for you and many others who might stop living because of you.
Today, as you ponder over what makes you smile or who makes you happy. You should never forget that you have many reasons to keep living even if you’re unable to find out exactly what makes you smile or who makes you happy.
If you’re unable to find out now, I believe someday you surely will. Just don’t give up on yourself now because life is sweet and short so why make it shorter.
Am glad you able to read my post today.
"Stay Alive"!
Don’t die young because many are still living at age 90 so why die at 20?
