How to get 10K Followers and Engagement on Instagram
Tips and Tricks
• Engagement is more important than follower numbers. It’s better to have 1,000 engaging followers who convert well than 10K that don’t do anything but provide social proof. As you grow the rate will likely fall through. This happens almost to everyone, as the account grows, people are not as willing to contribute since it’s not so much a close-knit community anymore. So don’t worry if it drops as you get bigger, there are plenty of successful accounts that “only” have about 3-4% engagement.
• Choose a few accounts that are in your niche, some large ones and a few on your level. Their audience is your audience, so go into their follower's list and start following people. You will get their attention, they’ll have a look and if they like your content, they should as it’s good, they’ll follow back. But due to new Algorithm, you can only follow 50-60 per hour.
• Like other people’s posts that are in your niche. For example, search some of the hashtags you’re using and interact with the accounts there. Instagram will eventually learn what content you prefer and serve it to you on the Explore page, which is a great place to find new accounts.
• Comment on posts in related niches. Try to add value to the discussion, or even start one. If you have something interesting (or entertaining) to say, people will pay attention. Try to comment on posts that are no older than a couple of days though, and with fewer than 5 comments to have more chance of being noticed.
• Time your posts for best engagement. Figure out where your audience is, you can use Iconsquare for this, and post accordingly. The best times are usually mornings and evenings with weekends actually being a little slower for most niches. Just keep that in mind.
• When you post something, Instagram’s algorithm will show it to a small sample of people who it thinks would be interested. If the reaction is positive i.e. there are likes and comments, Instagram will then show it to a larger sample, see how that goes and so on. This means that the first few minutes after you post are important as it can give your content a boost.
• Mix up high volume hashtags with ones that are more appropriate to the size of your account. If you’re combining them, you’re getting engagement but also ensuring that your content stays visible as long as possible (in Top Posts).
• Rotating hashtags will allow you to reach a larger audience while not looking like spam. But, it also seems that Instagram avoids putting two or more posts from the same account in the Top Posts section, at least for the larger hashtags (doesn’t really apply to smaller ones).
Use FREE apps like (Easel and WordSwag) to add text question on the image that works best to get engagement with your customers.

Great info. It should translate well to steemit. Have you ever run in a Rock and Roll marathon? I ran one in San Antonio TX and it was great . They had bands on every corner and the music really helped to keep people moving. Good luck on steemit.
