A significant percentage of institutional crypto investment is flowing into Ethereum products. According to Meltem Demiros, Chief Strategy Officer at CoinShares Investment, the institutional investor interest in the second-largest cryptocurrency is at the highest levels, to a point that has not been noticed before.

In an interview with Fox Business, Demiros shared that CoinShare has $4 Billion of assets under management. The company was tracking the weekly fund flow of investors allocating to Publicly-Listed companies, it discovered that most of the funds were flowing into Ethereum. He shared, “ 80% of inflows, or about $175 million, went into Ethereum investment products and we have never seen institutional interest like that before.”

Additionally, Demiros views that the particular move of Investors’ funds is in an effort to diversify risks. If investors are allocating their wealth in a cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin which has just crossed a whopping $50,000 ceiling, it is in an attempt to reduce volatility risk associated with the flagship currency. “The landscape is changing and we see firms, corporations allocating to Bitcoin but investors are also looking at other digital assets that could have long-term potential to help diversify those balance sheets,” the chief strategy officer shared.
