Christian integrity: Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ. Colossians 2:11

The apostle Paul probably wrote his epistle to the Colossians when he was in Rome, because this Church was in spiritual difficulties, and to reinforce their knowledge of the faith, he spoke to the new believers in Christ, about that new life and that new man in Christ who is the man of integrity.
The spiritual integrity was highly valued in the theology taught by the apostle Paul in all his writings, but this fullness is not a virtue but a grace, a beatitude. And it is a beatitude, a charism, because to know Jesus with the heart is to find that hidden treasure or that pearl of great price, as the apostle taught: "My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" Colossians 2:2-3.
And to better explain this concept, Paul referred to the importance of the sacrament of Baptism, accepting Jesus is passing from a life full of sins to a life of righteousness ("Do to others what you would have them do to you" Matthew 7:12), and this change, metaphorically speaking, is a passage from death to life. Because the old man is tied or enslaved to the passions of the flesh, but the new man is called to the freedom of the spirit and its fruits. For this reason, Paul spoke of a new circumcision, that of the heart: "In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ" Colossians 2:11.
Only when this change occurs in us is when we understand the fullness of the spirit; the christian integrity is a profound mystery, because with it we enter into the eternal life, the contemplative life. If we want to change the world, we first have to change ourselves, Paul taught us.
