Foreign direct investment in Q2 Indonesia is increasing

The rupiah strengthened against the US dollar on Thursday's trading session after the Fed held rates in July. Although it is anticipated that monetary policy will remain unchanged, the lack of information on the planned next rate hike is warmly welcomed in emerging markets, including Indonesia. Political risk in Washington weighed on the Dollar and worries about slowing inflation weighed on the prospect of a US interest rate hike to keep stocks and emerging market currencies potentially up. If expectations of US interest rate hikes continue to decline, then concerns about capital outflows may decrease so that the Rupiah will strengthen. From a technical point of view, USDIDR slipped below 13320 on Thursday and could lead to 13330 if Dollar continues to weaken.
