Microscopic art - The world's smallest sculptures

His intricate art can only be seen under a microscope. These works are small enough to fit through the eye of a needle.

Considered the smallest handmade sculptures in the world, Vliard Vigan's sculptures have broken records twice.
The first record was a motorcycle made of 24-carat gold in 2013. Then, in 2017, he broke his record by making a human embryo sculpture out of carpet yarn. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the sculpture was 0.05388 mm (53.88 microns) in diameter and was placed inside Vigan's beard.

Other examples of his incredible creations include a church carved from a grain of sand and a small Mona Lisa painting made of matchsticks.

Wigan spent years perfecting his skills and technique to accomplish such a small piece of art.

Vigan creates the sculptures by working 16-17 hours a day for weeks on end.

"I owe this work to autism, which allows me to make extremely intense movements. If I didn't have this condition I wouldn't be where I am now," Wigan said.
