Hi. I had the cable company come out today because of slow speeds, to make a long story short after many adjustments the tech replaced the cable line from the box on the lawn to the house and that made over 100% improvement for our speed. Now to the ethernet powerline adapter which is a device that uses your existing electrical plugs and wires in your house to make an ethernet cable extention. I have a netgear xav2101 and it has served me well, but after the new cable line I was still getting the same speed while the wireless devices improved greatly. We connected directly to the modem with a ethernet cord and that fixed my speed problem, but I still needed the adapter. So I went online to find a newer version of the powerline adapter and while I was browsing, and I had a thought...I wonder if the other electronics that are plugged into the same outlet are causing the problem? So I move the powerline adapter on both ends to outlets by themselves and just like that my speeds doubled. I hope this can help someone else.
