Hello World of Steemit!

Hello Steemians all over the world! My name is Ian. I am a software developer working in Makati City, Philippines. I am currently learning Blockchain technology, sepecifically the Etherium blockchain. I've been working as a software developer for more than ten years now but a real newbie with the Blockchain technology.

I am very excited to be a part of this community. I am also very happy that there are already Filipinos here. Mga kababayan!!!!!! :):)

How I learned about steemit? I was watching a youtube video last week regarding the basics of blockchain technology when the speaker mentioned a social network built for blockchain and is paying contributors for the posts and upvotes. As soon as he mentioned steemit, I paused the video and looked it up. I read how it works and easily got excited. I immediately browsed steemit.com and signed up. It was a letdown though when I learned that you have to wait for a few days before actually getting in. But despite that, I am still excited because I know that this is relatively new.

To tell a little bit more about myself, aside from being a software developer, I am also a dad to my 10 year old daughter, her name is Yesha. We both love to going to the mall and trying out different types of food. We also share the same interest of playing the guitar. I also love to travel around the country using my mountain bike. I am a cross-country cyclist. I also play the guitar and write songs of my own, not much of a singer though.

What will I contribute to the steemit community? That I am still not sure of. Still thinking about what to share to other steemians. Not yet sure wheather to focus on a specific discipline, say, software development. Or perhaps music? Or maybe the places I go to on my mountain bike? Or perhaps my adventures with my daughter Yesha? Or maybe a little bit of everything.
