Ok, so I'm here to commence on this journey with you. Yes! You. Come and be apart of this next phase of My life.
My name is Loneil Stephens, I'm not sure on how to go about introducing myself. I've never been very big on social media sites. However, I've signed up for some of them such as instagram (haven't uploaded a picture or video), Twitter (very few tweets) and Facebook (deactivated). Perhaps I had only signed up because it was a cool thing to do at the time. But didn't bother with it when I realised that my life wasn't that interesting. That's the truth if I'm being honest with you and myself.
Everything I do as of late, reminds me of how repetitive my life as been. I wake up, go to work, come and sleep (on average). The occasional time I would play football (soccer) or video games. I play GTA, FIFA, 2k, Division etc...I would be here for hours listing games. By the way, thats on PS4 (Lon-Nix add me). Apart from playing football and video games, I watch a lot of basketball and football.
Hey, are you still there? Ok, just checking. Have I mentioned that I live in Jamaica. An extremely beautiful country. Hoping to start enjoying it more in the near future. I really don't go out that much. My girlfriend (Nickita Baker) is the same, she doesn't like going out much either. Our last vacation together was last year Feburary (the best Month ever). We went to Ochio Rios, I can't remember the name of place. We were set to go on a vacation this year, however, our plans got derailed. Our Hyundai i20 2011 got broken into. They stole my car battery and shattered the front passenger side window. I only got the window replaced 2 weeks ago, after months of trying to procure it. Had to order it from the UK. After the car got broken into, my girlfriend decided to move. The move itself was chaotic (no movers). We spent months trying to find a place too. I still haven't had a vacation. If you have ever worked as a technical support agent, you how important vacation is. Just getting the time to clear your mind (pressing the reset button) and stepping away from other people's problem for 2 weeks means everything.
I started doing technical support back in 2012. The tutor from my Network plus class informed me that they were looking to hire and I jumped at the opportunity. It was a no brainer at the time. Because prior to that I was working in a supermarket packaging shelves for way less money. Since then I've worked for a few different companies (Sharp Electronics & Microsoft). I've been very exceptional at my job. My hard seems to always get undermind, to a point where there are days I just don't want to go work. How would you feel if someone told you that they aren't going to promote you because they "think" you are too "nice"? Then turn around and promotes someone that doesn't have a track record as pristine as you and CV doesn't compare to yours. I felt blackballed. There is a new position available and I applied. Hoping things work out this time around. Technical support is not by any means my dream job but it is an okay job. I'm working on my transformation, taking my time to save my earnings. I am hoping by September I want to start another journey. That will be going back to school. I want to do a degree in networking (ICT). Do you think this would be a good major? Let me know.
At age 28, you would have expected me to have my life figured out by now. Nope but I'm trying. I don't have a lot of friends who have been there to support me mentally, to provide good advice, and help me grow as a person. That's possible why I'm here to be apart of a community that supports each other. I'll share more, just continue to walk with me, I'll even hold your hands along the way.
Greetings, lon-nic! Wish you an awesome journey here in this very cool community with many nice people :) All the best!
By the way, there are several groups you as a newcomer can join. They will stay with you for your journey, helping and mentoring along the way.
