Hi Steemit! I Finally Got here!!

My name is Andrea and I'm @kiwidebs big, little sister.

I live in rural New Zealand on a 20 acre lifestyle block, about 30 minutes from the nearest small town. I'm single and have lived alone here for the past 3 and a half years. It's been a long and sometimes difficult road to feeling comfortable doing so!

I've lived in the rural community all my adult life, sometimes on large hill country farms but more recently on smaller lifestyle properties. I can't imagine going back to live in town so it's really important for me to make this work.

About 18 months ago I gave up my job as 2IC in a produce department to try to live off what I can grow myself and to rear calves as my main income. So far it's working but I do have to do some part time work when the calves are finished.

I'm a mother of 2, daughter 25, son 22 and a grandmother of 2, boy 7 and girl 2. I don't get to see them as much as I'd like as I have animals to feed every day and they live a couple of hours away. 💑

How did I get here?

Well @kiwideb and @sift666 have been talking to me about steemit for quite some time so when I suggested to @kiwideb that I'd like to document my weight loss journey, she immediately suggested I join steemit. Maybe some people would be interested in what I have to say and maybe I can help motivate people 😊 Who knows???
I've been over weight since forever, but due to health issues, I am now starting what I'm going to call
"My downhill slide to 50"

What am I going to write about?

Well....Besides weight loss I thought I'd write about my adventures on the farm and add in some preserving tips and recipes as I try to be a bit more self sufficient.
