Hello Steemit.... How ADHD is the best thing to ever happen to me.

Hello Steemit!

My name is Archie and i'm the owner of a small dog walking business appropriately named "Happy Pets'! I came across the Steemit community as i have been out from work following a knee injury and have been filling time by introducing myself to the cryptocurrency universe.

When i was a young man i was diagnosed with ADHD. ADHD has been the biggest positive and negative in my life. Making the most simple tasks seem impossible, whilst also providing me with a thirst for knowledge and learning like no one else. Although ADHD is horribly over prescribed for the few that do have it it is a constant battle. Over the years i have looked for outlets for my ADHD and have found that for me prescription medication although may work for some is not the way i wanted to live my life. So instead i decided to channel my extra energy into learning new hobbies. This has made me into a serial do-er. I'm always on the lookout for the next advancement in tech, the world, basically anything that peaks my interest. Even though many of my tasks may go no-where. The initial grab to learn something new and whether or not it takes hold of me will forever be what drives me.

My Dog Walking business fell into my lap and has been a massive benefit for me. I spend all day out in the sun, playing with dogs in parks and being my own boss. Although, the stress of owning a business at such a young age has sometimes got the better of me i have found being backed into a corner has provided a chance to learn something new and gave me a realisation that its not what you achieve. It's the process going into that achievement which is what makes you who you are.

I love, love, love playing the Guitar it has been a sort of meditation for me and has been the source of my greatest frustration and achievement. I can't sit down and watch a TV Show or Movie. And recently i have started to force myself to read a little at a time. Currently half way through Arnold Schwarzenegger's book. Reading more is a goal of mine.

Finally i just want to say i love the idea of Steemit anything that can help the world come together and be a benefit for third world countries is a yes from me. If someone in Africa who has next to nothing can provide us with a beautiful piece of literature, photo, anecdote about the way they live. And i can upvote them and that upvote actually can provide value to them. Every upvote makes the world a more beautiful place.!!
