Let me introduce myself | I am on a journey to becoming more self reliant

Hello steemit world! I would like to take this moment and introduce myself.

Most of my life I have lived in the city and it was always my dream that my parents would move us out into the country. Several times it looked like we would be able to do just that. Unfortunately these opportunities all fell through and we continued to live in the city. It was nice, but it was...the city.

Finally about a year and a half ago our family decided it was time for us to leave and find some land. After a very long and stressful time which involved many trips into several different states we were able to purchase a beautiful piece of land with an old farmhouse and barn. It was so exhilarating to have our very own property! We have never done anything like homesteading before, but our family is very handy and quick to learn. My Dad is a very skilled carpenter so he is very capable of taking care of things himself and I have learned and continue to acquire many skills from him.

We have taken on this homesteading adventure as a family. I am in my early twenties and at least for now it is my desire to stay here on the farm with my parents and siblings. My grandfather owns his own business and I work for him during the colder months. For the rest of the year I find odd jobs to do, but my main focus is working here on the farm. Right now my Dad works out of state, so much of the work around here falls on me. Very soon he will be transitioning to where he can work from home. This will enable he and I to work together on more of the bigger projects we have planned.

It is my desire to become more self sufficient and I want to share my journey with others. There is a ton that I have to learn and I hope you choose to join me. I hope to entertain you as well as be able to give you many helpful ideas and tips.

Currently I am doing at least on vlog style video every week. In those videos I show the progess on current projects and bring you along as I go about my day. In addition, I have also recently added a new genre with various gear reviews. These review videos may not be every week. When I have an item that I really like and have found to be of great quality I will be sure and do a video review.

Nature photography is something I will be getting more into as well. You can expect to see some great posts with awesome photos of wildlife and scenery.

All of my video posts will link to my Vidme channel. I also have a YouTube channel, but right now I am not happy with the way they are treating their creators. For the foreseeable future I will not be using that site, unless they change a bunch of things over there.
