You ask how so many cultures developed sexual taboos when sex education is obviously essential to life empowerment. I believe these taboos evolved as constraints on reproduction, and that the invention and spread of contraceptives has made some of them obsolete. Yet I am sure some people here tend to regard this belief of mine as culture-specific and foreign to their own ways.
