Facebook to Steemit, Will I Actually Participate This Time?

Hello Steemit!

I am going to apologize in advance. I have bad grammar, horrible spelling and a bad habit of expressing myself with the seven dirty words.

A little bit about me. I used to be a regular Joe. Did regular Joe things. Until, I saw Zeitgeist on youtube and went down the rabbit hole. Then I found, Mike Maloney, then I found James Rickards, then I read Creature from Jekyll Island etc, etc, etc..... Now, I am a silver and gold stacker and have strong anti-establishment views. I have never bought bitcoin or even know how to make a wallet. I am reading a book about cryptocurrency. I am looking forward to learning more about crypto and alt coins here on Steemit. Like I said, I am a precious metal kinda guy. This is all new to me but I am open to it.

I am a Ron Paul and George Carlin fan.

I hope Steemit can be a vehicle for me to express my true feelings about life, corrupt politics, social injustice, bubble economies, poor parenting, consumerism, the military complex, the corporate rat race and my stories and experiences that I have had in this crazy world.

You probably want to turn off now. That is fine. I'm not here for the money. I am doing this for myself as a personal outlet. You notice that I have no profile image. That would be on purpose. This will be like a private diary but for anyone to read and maybe even relate too. Maybe there are more people holding similar view points like myself here on Steemit vs on Facebook. Or maybe I'm in the minority again. That's fine, I'm use to it.

I canceled my Facebook account and signed up here a few weeks ago. I was never really active on Facebook. I am the kinda guy that likes to have a dinner conversation. I want to go out, have a meal or pint with you and find out what has been going on since the last time we met. That is how I update my "feed". I don't need all that instant update, post, text, tweet, kickit fucking nonsense. Don't get me wrong. I love technology and how far we have come since I was a kid playing Atari in the 80's. Elon Musk is a personal hero of mine. Yet, these fucking devices have become to rule and control us. Like, Pavlov dogs.

Why Steemit and not Facebook? In my opinion, +90% facebook posts are just to show off: Vacations, home remodels, selfies, dinners, shopping, etc... Look at me! Look at me! I am so awesome, don't you wish you were awesome like me! You guys suck and I'm awesome. Fuck you!!

Let's be clear. If that is what Steemit is about, I am gone. I am not interested in seeing a picture of your dinner before you eat it or AFTER you ate it. Yes, a guy from school that I haven't seen or talked to in over 20 years, posted a picture of his latest crap on Facebook. Yes, his shit. The sad thing was, everyone was commenting about it. I guess it was a real interesting topic. Man, has society fallen. That was the last straw for me. Since then I turned off Facebook for years until I recently canceled.

Another reason I never used Facebook is because, I was too scare of the repercussions if I actually expressed my ideas about life or my world view. My mom's on facebook, colleagues, friends etc... If I said what I really wanted to say on Facebook. The fallout would probably be heavy. I have tried before to discuss and exchange ideas with family and close friends. It always ends badly. Animosity, anger, silence etc... Like they said, you are never suppose to talk about politics, religion, and money. Those are taboo topics with family and friends. But why not! Those are my favorite topics to discuss. Aren't we suppose to share and exchange ideas with one another. Isn't that how we grow as a society or even just on a personal level? Can't we just agree to disagree?

I have learned the hard way, that you can't change people's minds. People want to believe what they want to believe. If I started talking about the gold standard, petro dollar, the fed, stock market bubble, derivative bubble, economic collapse, drone strikes, Snowden, Clinton Foundation, building 7 on 9/11 etc... My family and friends would look at me like I was a nut. It seems like the people around me just don't know what is going on in the world let alone in their own country. They know every pokemon creature and remember their starting running back from fantasy football three years ago but have no idea who Julian Assange is.

I can't blame them. Majority of people are just chasing that "American Dream" we were promised. Too busy catching up with the Kardashians or playing the Joneses game with their neighbors. Most people just fall into one of the many many traps the system and the media has brainwashed us to think is happiness.

I'm no expert, nor do I claim to be an evolved individual. I am just a regular guy on my own path of discovery and education. Everyone has their own path and is at different levels of their education. Once you become awake and start finding out the sad truths of the world. Like the horrible things people will do for some power and money. Sometimes, I wish I didn't go down this path and was still that regular Joe a few years ago. Life might be easier.

I guess I do have a lot to say. Maybe I have just been waiting for the right place to say it. Is this the right place? If it is, thanks Steemit for creating a place to voice my inner monologue to the world. Till next time. Maybe.
