Introducing Myself – Minimalism And My Transformation Journey #1: How YOU Can Help Me Gain Self Discipline!steemCreated with Sketch.

in introduceyourself •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hey Steemians! In this post I introduce myself, how I'm going through the grind and how I intend on overcoming it! Also, planning on giving FREE STEEM to the community through a reward and punishment system fueled by YOU! So read on and let me know what you think!

About Me - My Not So Humble Beginnings

I was born with a silver (not gold – my parents couldn't afford much) spoon in my mouth.

Spoonfeeding.jpg

Although I didn’t come from a wealthy family, everything was given to me easily as a child. I had the freshest shoes, the nicest clothes and biggest birthday parties!

My father would say, “I want you to have what I didn’t have as a child”.

My parents gave me the the best and over-delivered on their part.

The Realization

As the story goes, all that pampering obviously didn’t work out too well for me.

Not having to work for a thing in my life, I felt entitled.

“The world owes me!” I would think. As a consequence, the only thing I got back from the world was a royal kick in the back-side.

While the “fake it till you make it” attitude works (and works well), reality always has a way of catching up.

Suddenly, you’re 29-years-old and you realize the world doesn’t owe you Jack!

Hit The Road Jack – And Don't You Come Back!

Believing my castle was made of gold and then coming to realize that what I had really built was a little straw hut, is somewhat of a humbling experience (and understatement in my case).

hut.jpg

But as my father would say, “You can’t build a castle on a weak foundation.”

Regardless, there was only so much he could do. At the age of 29, he asked me to leave his house.

So I gathered my life-savings, my net-worth so to say - A whopping USD 100 (lol), and moved out.

The Solution

So here I am, writing my first blog post on STEEMIT. Taking things in to my own hands.

mario jump.jpg

Hopefully this You and this Blog will keep me accountable.

If you choose to follow me, I will keep you updated on my daily routine trying to build my castle up from scratch.

I intend on building discipline through strict routines and strong habits. Reverse-engineering my castle’s foundation so to say.

What You Will Find Here (Other Than My Suffering!)

  • Waking up at 4 am – To start the day
  • Daily Affirmations - A little bit of woo woo!
  • Sleeping for only 6-hours a day – I could sleep for 24!
  • Meditation – Being in control of my thoughts and emotions through the mastery of my mind
  • Minimalism – How to gain more from less (A theory I will be writing more about)
  • Learning to invest my measly savings – Crypto, Stocks, Real Estate and whatever else I can get my hands on. If you guys have any suggestions on good information, please leave a comment below.
  • Drinking a gallon of water a day – Lots of peeing (No, I promise I won't show you any of that!)
  • Working out – One thing that I have been able to maintain is a basic level of fitness. I will show you how you can do that too and bust some myths doing the rounds in the fitness industry.
  • Sticking to a daily routine – I will list out my daily routine in my follow up blog – Fuzzigog's Transformation Journey #2. So, stay tuned for that!
  • Writing – Yes, a whole bunch of writing!

All this and more will be served up everyday!

suffer.jpg

And you get to see me suffer.

I’m going to beat my weak willed butt into submission, in order to conquer myself before I try to conquer the world!

god.jpg

I will attempt to prove the old adage “You give 99% and God will give the rest”.

Well... this is my 100%.

And You get to keep me accountable!

So What's The Catch?

There is no Catch!

In fact, if I fail to deliver on what is promised in my next blog (The Daily Routine), I will choose a form of punishment from the comments below.

catch.jpg

I am leaning towards sharing a percentage of my earnings on STEEM for every time I fail to complete a task!

What do you guys think? Go ahead leave your comments below.

Eitherway, I hope You enjoy my transformation and perhaps get some inspiration to try your own too!

Let's do this together!

nice to hear your story; hope i can follow and help keep you accountable. Remember, do something for 3 weeks and it sets a solid ground for more likely something to be a long-term habit

The 6 hours of sleep goal/limit is also one of mine; I could sleep all day as well if relaxes environment! Sometimes I feel like that just for a break

Minimalism: Yes, also a mutual goal of mine, I wrote these on that subject:
What You Own, Owns You & Opting Out of the System

On the water front, you'd only have to drink a gallon of water if you're eating foods that are dehydrating...or living it he Sahara desert. Checkout my post on 10 Less Common Signs You're Dehydrated

It's more about maling an experiment of it. Kinda like what will happen if...
It is a bit excessive. But I'm sure there are benefits.

Thank You @exe8422, I really appreciate the gesture. :)
