Photostory: What every blogger must know..

in introduceyourself •  7 years ago

Dear readers, yes, this is my very first post! HELLOOO THERE!

My name is Martin and I like to take pictures of remarkable locations, most of them with a story behind it.

But I also watch the gold market on a daily basis and because I think that gold does kind of bottom, there should be more attention to it, at least in my opinion.

So I have named my account goldreport, because I am going to use steemit also as a notepad for my news interpretations, something that might be of relevance to the price of gold. I am a winner in 2017 and I sort of fell in love with gold :-))

First of all, let me start with a photo story. A story that every blogger should know, because it is about the pencil.

Who would have though, that it all starts with a castle sitting on a rock? I visited that location two weeks ago and took some pictures on that beautiful day.

Here, from that view you can see the rock better:

If you walk up the hill for a couple of minutes, you get to an old amphitheatre. It was built in the year 1810 by the architect Joseph Hardtmuth, who happens to be the inventor of the pencil lead.

It is fascinating not only to look at these old stone structures, but also to get in touch with inventors from the past, who have changed the world.

I wonder how many and what kind of people went up those stairs in former times. It has always been private ownership and there must have been some wild parties, don't you think?

Sorry, I couldn't get on top, but you'd have a great panoramic view up there.

Some information at the site:

In the year 1792, the architect Joseph Hardtmuth founded a pencil factory. He mixed graphite with clay in order to assemble the modern pencil that so many writers are (still?) using ... that was before the internet.

Do you remember what a pencil is?

Let us for a moment pause and remember the good old pencil. When did YOU use a pencil the last time? Remember?
When did you sharpen a pencil the last time? Is it years ago or only months ago?

BTW: the company still exists today and it is one of the world's largest producer of art supplies.

I hope you enjoyed that story and I have a lot more coming up, so stay tuned!

Have a great day,

and.. I am a newbie and don't know much about steemit, yet. I am thankful for any insider advice.
