I’m a Social Media blogger living in London, United Kingdom. I am an early adopter of The8App.

Great Dex you get to a serious start here- I am 100% sure you will become a key asset to the community as on any other platform we rocked together. As I told you on FB read the help site by @thecryptofiend I sent, read posts here, Checkout what others do here in various tags and you kill it here. No rush. I count on you. BTW Communities will be launched soon too but way better than on tsu.

Welcome to Steemit. @steevc and I have been around so let us know if you need help with anything.
I think what sets Steemit apart is that votes from others on the platform are what payouts to your posts (instead of ads or brand sponsorship). Your votes cost you nothing but if you want your votes to be more powerful you have to build up Steem Power or buy it.
Steemit is still under development so if you find a feature you are looking for, shout it out to the community and someone may help you build it!

I would also like to be able to add alt image info to images and name them so they can be found on Google images and are useful for SEO. Also don't seem to be able to pin images to Pinterest from Steemit

Steemit is all about engagement and curation. If we vote up the good content then it will get rewarded and you can earn something for doing so. How much depends on the Steem Power you hold, so you need to build that up. My votes can be worth around 20c if I give a 100% vote. You get the option to vary it when you have a few hundred SP.
You should follow those you are interested in so you see their posts in your feed.
You can treat this as a pure money making exercise, but I think it's best to make it fun as you probably won't make much when you start off. I certainly didn't, but now I can generally make a few dollars on a post as my followers have a lot of SP between them. I get much better comments here than on other sites.
