Hi everyone! I’m a newbie here but better late than never right? Hahaha

So my name is Jessica . I was born and raised in Jerantut, Pahang but at the age of 13, I moved to my parent’s hometown which located in Serian, Sarawak. For those who never heard of Serian, it’s a small town which is one hour away from Kuching. I’m currently studying in IPG Kampus Gaya, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and my major is TESL.

Interesting things to know about me. Number 1, I’m a mixed Chinese-Ibanese but I look 100% like a Chinese (Oops, sorry dad). Number 2: I enjoy sports since I was 9 and my first sport was basketball. But in 2018, I tore my ACL which is one of the ligament in my left knee and I got a minor surgery for it. Everyone told me to stop doing sports but I’m a little rebellious when it comes to my passion so I still play basketball every now and then. Number 3, other than my biological parent, I also have 2 foster parents which helped to take care of me when I was still living in Pahang. One couple is Malay, and the other one is Punjabi. That’s why I can pretty much adapt with the cultures in Malaysia. Number 4, my mother raised me as a single mother but my father always keep in touch with me and my siblings and I love them both equally no matter what happened between them. Number 5, I love poems but I can never write a good poem so I spend my time reading it and write my thoughts and opinion about the ones that I can reflect on.

This is something that I wrote when my best friend hurt me with her words when she was going through depression.

PAIN
If you can’t mend them,
Don’t cut them deeper.
For how they react,
is how they were cut.
So don’t feed the monster
that hunger for more pain.

I'm not sure why you say you haven't wrote a good poem, when Pain is obviously good. Don't discount your own works, there people who will find value in them. I'm going to follow you, please share more of your poems, and check out mine.
