How to use steemit in the classroom

in introduceyourself •  7 years ago  (edited)

Explain the concept of steemit to your students before you begin. Make sure they spend at least 15 minutes on the site, and realize the full range of topics covered by the articles.

Ask your students to choose two articles from steemit to make a critical assessment of them. You can prepare an "Assessment Criteria Table" based on the information available at https://steemit.com to help you get started.

Once the class has understood what a good steemit article should look, invite them to think of a topic or brainstorm topics that really interest them in writing their own articles.

Once you have approved a possible topic for your students, ask them to search on steemit if there is already an article that covers the same topic; If so, invite them to choose a new topic or improve the existing article according to the evaluation criteria they have learned.

It is very important to verify that the article is no longer available on steemit before the student starts writing your article, to avoid being disappointed if they delete your article or combine it with the existing one.

Now help your students create an steemit account; Although the process is simple, guide them through each step and ask them to use a username to protect their identity. Keep each student's access data in case you need them later.

When students already have their subject approved, they will begin by writing the title of their article. so you should invite them to make sure your title is neatly written, without any spelling or digital errors.

Excellent idea !

Why not throw in grading as well? Anything that earns more than 70 cents is passing. Anything that earns above 1 dollar is an A, 80 cents is a B, 70 cents is a C.

Might as well teach them about marketing gimmick while you're at it.
