Hi my name is, chika-chika...Slim Shady

Alright, so I’m not the real Slim Shady, I admit, I can’t rap at all. But I thought it would be a really awkward way to introduce myself, and I think I accomplished that goal. Hi, I’m James, your fellow nerdy crypto enthusiast and first time Steemit member.

Let’s start with who I am. I’m from Canada, the great North, yes, the country that gave you Justin Bieber… (please don’t hate me, although we did also give you Vitalik Buterin, so I think that cancels out). I am a father of two amazing kids, and husband to my beautiful wife. My formal education at University got me a degree in Economics and Business, with a specialization in finance (that’s right, it’s as boring as it sounds). Right after graduating, I did end up working in the banking industry for a few years. It wasn’t long before it took a toll on me and I realized that this was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I was stressed out, over worked, under paid, and under appreciated. I made a bold move and resigned, with the idea that I never wanted a J-O-B again. I went from having a secure and stable financial position with one of the largest banks in the industry, to jobless and unsure where my life was going to lead me. During this uncertain and scary period in my life I grew exponentially, by voraciously reading and learning from those who were successful in life. I’ve had many great mentors in different niches and it has truly shaped my thinking and positive outlook on life. Now it’s time for me to give back, and hopefully Steemit will allow me to do this for others.

Fast forward to today, I am a cryptocurrency and real estate investor. I stumbled upon bitcoin back in late 2014, the technology fascinated me and I was instantly hooked. I now invest, mine, trade, and lend cryptocurrencies to build passive income for myself, and I teach others how to do the same thing, its become a passion of mine. And that’s why I’m here on Steemit, to meet and share information with like minded individuals, and help one another in the community.

What I’d like to do with this blog, is document my crypto financial journey, teach others what I know, learn from others as well, as I don’t claim to be Andreas Antonopoulos by any means, and I’d like to introduce more people to blockchain technology and all its benefits. I plan on doing reviews, tutorials, and opinion pieces. Aside from cryptocurrency, my other interests include real estate, fitness, mixed martial arts, space, aliens, A.I., robotics, technology, spirituality, yoga, movies, and music, of which I might blog about these topics at certain times.

Building passive income has been my goal for many years, which is why I first got into real estate and now cryptocurrencies. I have been blessed in many ways, and countless people have helped me along the way to get to where I am today. I hope to be able to pass on what I’ve learned and contribute something of value that benefits the community.
