Cuando pensé en escribir este primer post, me di cuenta que jamás me había preguntado quién era. Normalmente la respuesta a esta pregunta sería contestar con tu nombre, edad, nacionalidad, ocupación y quizás uno que otro gusto o hobbie.

Si partimos desde ese punto, me llamo Lesslie Mendoza. Lo sé, mi nombre no pega con mi apellido, eso es porque mi mamá fue muy creativa al escogerlo y tenía mi nombre antes de tener a mi papá. La cosa está en que mi nombre viene de una modelo que mi mamá vio alguna vez en una revista (nunca supe el apellido), pero quizá parte de la esencia de aquella persona me llevó a tomar decisiones en mi vida, como ser modelo desde los 14 años.

I know, my name does not match my last name, that's because my mom was very creative when she chose it and she had my name before having my dad. The thing is that my name comes from a model that my mom once saw in a magazine (I never knew the last name), but maybe part of the essence of that person led me to make decisions in my life, like being a model from the 14 years.

Tengo 20 años, si sacan la cuenta nací en los 90’s, una época de muchos cambios en el mundo (unos para bien y otros para mal, depende de cómo lo veas), lo que conocemos hoy en día como globalización. Sin embargo, me gustaba más la época de mi infancia, sin tanta complicación. Un dato importante de mi edad, es que estoy a días de cumplir 21.
I am 20 years old, if they get the account I was born in the 90's, a time of many changes in the world (some for good and others for bad, depends on how you see it), what we know today as globalization. However, I liked the time of my childhood more, without much complication. An important fact about my age, is that I am a few days away from turning 21.

Soy venezolana, de la cuna al cajón, no cambiaría eso por nada del mundo. Nací en Caracas, la capital, la ciudad caótica, pero la que enamora a cualquiera; solo basta mirar el Ávila todos los días para amarla con locura. Soy del país de los hermosos paisajes y de las mujeres bellas, de la gente que lucha día a día contra la tormenta (porque en estos tiempos, no hay cosa más difícil que mantener la cordura viviendo aquí). Puedo decir con certeza que soy más criolla que la arepa, los coloquialismos me acompañan cada vez que hablo y sé que en cualquier parte del mundo sabrían que soy venezolana.

Estudio comunicación social, a un año de graduarme y mi alma mater es la UCAB. Mi universidad tiene algo particular y es que debo elegir dos especializaciones. Mi pasión y el motivo por el que elegí estudiar esta carrera son porque AMO el periodismo, para mí el mundo no gira sin las noticias y las noticias no llegan si no existen los periodistas; así que por eso escogí como mi primera mención periodismo y si me preguntan, me quedaría solo con esa. Pero como no todo en la vida es color de rosa, tengo que escoger otra rama este semestre y sigo sin decidirme (lo más seguro es que sea mercadeo).

Otros gustos o hobbies sobre mí, bueno haré un TAG de 10 cosas sobre mí para que sea más corto:
- Soy adicta al café: Debo tomar al menos 2 tazas al día, cuando no tomo café me duele la cabeza, me da sueño y me pongo de malhumor (y eso no es muy bueno para el resto del mundo).
- Amo la historia: Me encanta leer sobre historia, sobre todo la segunda guerra mundial, los documentales son lo máximo. Dice una frase por ahí “quien no conoce su historia está condenado a repetirla” (se los dice una venezolana con experiencia).
- Me encanta ver películas: Sobre todo clásicos del cine, no me gustan las películas de acción (me parece que no tienen tanto contenido), mis películas favoritas son Matilda de Danny Devito (de pequeña me parecía mucho) y The Shining de Stanley Kubrick (la recomiendo 100%)
- Fui hija única por 17 años, solo tengo un hermano y tiene 3 años, así que parece más mi hijo, por lo que mucha gente me ve raro en la calle cuando andamos juntos.
- Mis padres son divorciados: Desde que tengo uso de razón vivo solo con mi mamá, aunque mi papá vivió casi toda mi vida en el mismo edificio que yo pero en otro apartamento.
- Soy maniática de la ortografía: ODIO la gente que no cuida su escritura, me parece que escribir bien no es algo tan complejo, no necesitas ser físico nuclear para escribir una oración perfecta.
- No me gusta hacer ejercicio: Soy muy mala en los deportes, por eso agradezco tener un metabolismo rápido que no me permite engordar demasiado.
- El chocolate y yo somos amantes: Quien quiere convencerme de algo, que me dé un chocolate y podemos negociar.
- Desde que tengo dos años sufro de dermatitis atópica crónica: Es una condición un poco inusual, tengo momentos buenos y malos en todo el año con respecto a mi piel, los momentos malos no son para nada bonitos (prometo hacer un post sobre esto).
- Hace poco me diagnosticaron hiperinsulinemia: Por lo que debo consumir más azúcar de lo normal para mantener mi glicemia estable. Esta condición sí es más común de lo que la gente cree (de esto también haré un post).
Other likes or hobbies about me, well I'll do a TAG of 10 things about me to make it shorter:
- I'm addicted to coffee: I have to drink at least 2 cups a day, when I do not drink coffee my head hurts, it makes me sleepy and I get angry (and that's not very good for the rest of the world).
- I love history: I love reading about history, especially the Second World War, documentaries are the best. Says a phrase out there "who does not know his history is condemned to repeat it" (they are told by an experienced Venezuelan).
- I love watching movies: Especially movie classics, I do not like action movies (I do not think they have much content), my favorite films are Danny Devito's Matilda (when I was little I looked like a lot) and The Shining by Stanley Kubrick ( I recommend it 100%)
- I was the only child for 17 years, I only have one brother and he is 3 years old, so he seems more like my son, so many people see me weird in the street when we walk together.
- My parents are divorced: Since I have use of reason I live only with my mother, although my father lived most of my life in the same building as me but in another apartment.
- I am a maniacal speller: I HATE people who do not care for their writing, I think that writing well is not something so complex, you do not need to be a nuclear physicist to write a perfect sentence.
- I do not like to exercise: I am very bad in sports, so I appreciate having a fast metabolism that does not allow me to gain too much weight.
- Chocolate and I are lovers: Who wants to convince me of something, give me a chocolate and we can negotiate.
- Since I am two years old I suffer from chronic atopic dermatitis: It is a somewhat unusual condition, I have good and bad times throughout the year with respect to my skin, the bad moments are not at all beautiful (I promise to make a post about this).
- I was recently diagnosed with hyperinsulinemia: So I should consume more sugar than usual to keep my blood sugar stable. This condition is more common than people think (I will also post this).
