Where Am I & What Am I Doing Here?

Oh, hello there.

I would like to start by saying that I do not, nor have I ever, considered myself a writer. I enjoy witty banter and verbal jousts as much as the next person, but putting pen to paper (or in this case, finger tip to keyboard) has never crossed my mind.

So, where am I and what am I doing here?

I am currently in the south of France, playing basketball for a living. This may sound glamorous to some, but the road to this point has not been easy (neither is this point actually), but I'm getting there. This is my 3rd year away from home (Canada, sorry), and I feel like I'm slowly building traction towards my few, but important goals. Mainly: earning a living through basketball and travelling the world.

I am among a large group of athletes who are trying to make a living playing the game that they love. Many give up and join the work force, others go into coaching, but we are left to pursue our endeavors and let the cards fall where they may. 

Whelp, guess that's it for now. Figure that I'd keep it short and sweet for the first piece.

In the future, I'll elaborate on how all of this came to be and the ups and the downs. Feel free to suggest anything you would like to read about that I haven't shared. I'll probably need the ideas...
