I do art. It's my passion. Amongst other things. It's what keeps me calm when all around is falling down. It can help me put into images what i can always put into words. I know that many people do political art, i sometimes do that. But it's mainly digital art work. I've been doing it for about 10 years. and i really got into doing it after people started to like what i did, and that gave me confidence to continue. If you want to see some of the art i do, try my website. I have a shop too if anyone wants to buy any of my work. Here's an image of some recent work i have done -
I have done images for some people as cd covers or event posters. I've had my art in a book. But the best thing about doing art are the comments from people who they love what i have done.
I got more interested in politics and how this world works, via a couple of comedians. Looking at that sentence looks odd to read. The first comic was a legend. And he went WAY before his time. His name was Bill Hicks. Just something about him just hit me. It was like being slapped with a cold, wet fish on a hot day. Mind blowing stuff. Oh and if you haven't seen or heard any of his work - go check out Revelations. And as he said "It's just a ride"
So how did listening to Bill Hicks get me to where i am today? Well, through him i found a podcast called Moment of Clarity by Lee Camp. And it was through him that not only did i open my eyes to the crap that plutocracy and big corporations are doing to this world, but i also got to meet Bill's brother AND get a piece of my artwork on Bill's mothers wall. I have gotten to know some awesome people, who i have learnt SO much from. And i am so glad i have. I have learnt to listen to people. To make up my own mind. To continue to be me. To fight for what is right. And even if i can't be where any protest/action is, i can repost or retweet things to others know and to help the cause. whatever that may be.
Apart from saying that i come from Britain and that i think i know more about american politics than probably most brits, that's me. I love to learn. i love finding out new stuff. I love it when things happen for people. When a group of resisters win their fight. So thank you to steemit for giving me a platform to not only vent my frustrations, and give my opinions -some of which others may not agree with. But that's ok. It would be a horrid world if we all agreed on the same things. right? And if you have any questions for me, i shall do my best to try and answer them.
