greetings from hermosa beach, love the hair!
Thats Crazy that you can read Sumerian, I think Love you!

Please help us grow @rehab22 Thank you!

Haha thanks, people generally think it's a completely insane thing to spend your life doing and interrogate me about why I wouldn't just go to business school or something, but occasionally someone thinks it's really cool. I learned a long time ago that if people don't get it, they don't get it, and there's no use in explaining it. It's like, people enjoy going to museums, but it doesn't occur to them that there are real life humans out there who wrote the descriptions under the artifacts they're looking at?

I can't express how annoyed I am with the society around me. Well, I origin from India, where the only two class A jobs that the people know are being a doctor and an engineer. They aren't aware of the million other things that they can do otherwise. They look down on farmers while they consume the food that the same farmers are the reason for.
We are who we are, we are not someone whom other can judge upon.

welcome mallory hopefully we can grow together on steemit nice to meet you my friend

Hey Mallory @MalloryBlythe.
Just loved the way you presented your introduction.I myself was introduced to Steemit because of my involvement with cryptos.I came across Steemit because of STEEM currency, across which I stumbled upon when it reached the top 20 at coinmarketcap, and I was instantly hooked to the site.
I wish you a fruitful future here at Steemit. Oh! And I do have to mention your cat, Mushu here. Is it a he or she? and I have to say, Mushu is a real beauty, a real Black beauty!
It was a pleasure meeting you here at Steemit
Wish to see more of you around here and it would be awesome if we could be in a Steemit Circle. 🙂

Thanks! I followed you and I'm looking forward to reading your posts. Mushu is a she :) Currently she's on top of my refrigerator terrorizing a house plant.

Welcome Mallory. Yes, everything you say stays in blockchain history. It is truly amazing and scary. I find myself editing myself more on here than on other social media platform. Ancient languages? I think that’s pretty cool. I love history now that I’m no longer at school and have to learn about it. 🙂

Tag #newbieresteemday on your next post so we can try to get more eyes on your posts. We’re a bunch of good-hearted people that want to see everyone succeed on here.

Best to you!

Thanks for the tip! I just edited the post to add that tag. :)

Great. Kick out great content and we'll help to get it seen. :)

Welcome to Steemit. Thanks for sharing.

Hello cat loving, blue hair, Mallory, I'm Oatmeal Joey, and not being able to delete what we write is a little scary but it was more scary when YouTube deleted all of my OJAWALL videos in 2017 and when Facebook deleted photos, videos, and Twitter told me that I was working for Russia in an email.

Language is amazing, like history, like culture, and I went to Vietnam and learned Vietnamese a little. I tried to learn some Latin. I want to maybe learn Hebrew. I learned some Spanish. I love cats. Love your blue hair. My dad was born in Los Angeles. I have tutored kids at camps and at schools. I love it. I was home schooled, too as a kid. Love your photos, Mallory.

Hi Oatmeal Joey! (slash possible spy for Russia? Sounds like there's a great story there...)
and thanks for all the kind words!

Hey there girl, slash possible cat in the body of a woman, yeah, ha ha, there are great stories there, here, and maybe I am a Russian spy, and I used think or pretend as a kid that I was an alien and my bunk bed was a space ship and I was alien because people struggled to understand me. So, possible alien spy.

Cheers Mallory. Mushu is also an adorable cat..

Welcome to the platform, I think you'll like it here.

Thank you!

Hi malloryblythe. Nice to have you in this community. Me myself introduce to steemit by my friend who is a cartoonist and lecturer and too. It is a nice feeling when someone appreciate our works.

Wellcome to steemit 🌹🌹🌹🌹😁

Sounds like the perfect platform for you. Welcome!

Thank you!

Welcome to steemit world, I hope you have a good time here. with love... :)

Thanks!

Hi @malloryblythe, it is great to meet people that are interested in the 'old school' knowledge about history, geography, science, etc. and not just all the crypto + technology stuff :) It is even better if you are interested in both!

I haven't seen too many posts about interesting/obscure events from history, but I have subscribed to Atlas Obscura (https://www.atlasobscura.com/) which does combine history with geography in an interesting way.

Looking forward to your contribution to our growing community here :)

Sorry for the delays in response; I ran out of bandwidth :/

I have a lot of random interests. :) I actually should probably "re-introduce" myself after a couple more months since I haven't been doing all that much crypto-related posting and I've been branching out into other genres besides history. It's just that I started out reading Steemit for crypto news. I love Atlas Obscura! Some of my former colleagues in the academic world are contributing writers there.

Thank you so much for resteeming me--I really appreciate it!

Yeah, it is hard to get the right balance between curating and posting sometimes... it just depends on where you wander into in this very diverse community. So great to see that you know people who contribute to Atlas Obscura! It is hard for all the newcomers to get spotted and attract attention but that's what is so great about the #newbieresteemday initiative - we are all helping each other to help ourselves :)

Actually, I did end up writing a 're-introduce yourself' post after a couple of months (also I wrote a terrible one to start with :D). I think we need a better way of introducing ourselves to the community other than holding up a sign and taking a photo. Besides, it is really hard to figure out someone's history on Steemit by just looking through their feed :p

I like writing about obscure and weird things that happened in history.

Now that just hooked me up! hahaha I've just discovered you on a comment in one of Ross's posts.
It's nice to meet you and I'll keep an eye open for your writings.

Nice to meet you too!

Hi @malloryblythe, I just read your introduction post. Interesting. I'm not an historian but love history and certainly don't read a variety of languages; Well, if you count Australian and English as two different languages then I'm most definitely bilingual, however something tells me you wouldn't do so. Let's just call me unilingual.

Anyway, thanks to @honeydue I found out you have a blog and, considering my quest for quality content, feel compelled to follow you to see where your blog leads. I may be unilingual however am not uni-content-able (I know, that 'aint no proppa word). What I mean is that I personally blog about all sorts of things and also read all sorts of things also.

Coincidentally I also have a cat (two in fact) and one looks a little like Mushu. He's 20 though, not a kitten. (Merlin)

Photo 13-5-18, 16 37 14 (1).jpg

Anyway, that's about all I have for the moment.

Hello! I am actually pretty unilingual myself when it comes to practical matters, like having real conversations with other humans who do not speak English. Unless you count American and English as two separate languages. Not sure how well I speak Australian. I can read a few other languages, though.

Merlin is so cute! Mushu looks a lot more like him now that she's grown up a bit and is almost an adult. One of my closest friends has a cat named Merlin, but she's a girl cat.

Following you back! Pinky swear I won't tag you in any contests. Despite the one I held, I'm actually not that into them either.

I believe, with a little study, both of us could add another language to our list; American is a language and so is Australian (not really) so let's just say, we're trilingual! Of course, each language has its own slang and unique terminology that may not translate, hence the study... :)

Seriously though, I can speak a little French and Italian, not well mind you, but we've been to those countries a few times and we get by.

So yeah...Cats huh? Our's run our household. We treat them like our children (we're a childless couple). Our cats, Merlin and Cleo, make us feel happy.

Thanks for the follow @malloryblythe I really look forward to reading more and engaging with you.

Pinky swear

:) I haven't done one of them for years! I might start introducing into my business environment...Could be a winner. (Thanks though, I'm a no-steemit-contest kinda guy.)
