Hello Steemians; Free Spirits

in introduceyourself •  6 years ago  (edited)

Hello Steemians, I wonder what took me so long. This post has been a long time coming.

Well, my name is Managi. I'm a Nigerian born Biochemist, currently on a one year national service.

Yeah, that's me - a free spirit. And No, I don't drink spirits. I love knowledge and information sharing - call me up anytime.

How did I find Steemit?
My friend - Pizzy - told me about a decentralized platform were I could share contents, upvote others, and earn. It turned out to be steemit. He mentioned it in December, 2017 and it took over a year for me to finally get here. Unimpressive, that is. But, now I'm here.

You must think "what then?"
Well, I hope to create a niche here for me.
So let's let loose scientific and technological knowledge, beauty, love and art.

Uhmmm...How can I give back?
I think steemit is a large repository of information and media, and as well a large community of great minds. So, I'd be upvoting and curating good contents, and contributing my quota in the general development of the steemit platform and it's community.
My intro is beginning to sound like a mission statement. I feel quite upbeat, being here. So Steemians, let's get free and flying! Shall we?

Welcome to the steem blockchain. I must warn you, this shit is addictive as fuck. We have a mini-community of Nigerian stem writers in the form of stemng. Our mother community is steemstem (you can check steemstem.io interface out). Feel free to join the two communities on discord and be sure to contribute great stem contents.

I love STEM and I'd be contributing on steemstem and stemng.

Your words really cracked me up. I sure would make a good addict. I can't wait to start interacting with other writers from Nigeria. Thanks for the warm welcome - means a lot to me.

Hello pal, Thanks for welcoming me here.
There's actually a lot going on around here, I see. I'm hoping to have a nice time.

No problem I thought it would be nice to show what’s popular in the community. Sometimes it’s overwhelming when you first join as things are not always intuitive.

welcome to steemit. Steemit is not a get-rich-quick scheme as you have to put in a lot of work. Coming into steemit now that things are tough because of RC (resource credit) troubles and low prices might even make things more difficult for you but I don't want you to give up easy.

There are things you must do if progress quickly on steemit as a content creator. Here are my 8 tips for success on steemit.
~ First you have to produce quality content. The community always appreciate and rewards that. Content is king.
~Secondly you have to join communities like STEEM SCHOOL by @dobartim, JOE PARYS ACADEMY by @Joeparys or SUNDAY WAFRO PARTY by @wafrica.
~ Thirdly you have to participate in challenges to get free stuffs to help your journey. The FreeWriteHouse contest by @mariannewest is an easy contest to checkout.
~Fourthly remember to use tags that match your post and also use the Wafrica tag cause they reward quality contents with upvotes.
~Fifthly I recommend you download the Partiko App on play store for steemit cause it will give you a great UX (User experience) and you also earn points for your activities with you can use on your post later as upvotes.
~Sixthly you have to leave quality comments on peoples post as this is a great way to get followers on the platform.
-Seventhly, you should remember to play some games and have fun with STEEMMONSTERS.
~Eighthly, try other DApps such as Dtube and Dlikes, you might find your calling there.

Thanks a lot...your comment has been so useful. I appreciate. I won't give up.

Coming into steemit now that things are tough because of RC (resource credit) troubles…

Please, do you mind explaining the resource credit part to me?

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

Resource credit is like an oxygen tank given to you everyday. The more steem power you have, the bigger your tank. You have to use your oxygen carefully because if it finishes, you won't be able to comment, post or upvote till you give it some time to recharge again. You can see your resource credit level using "steemworld.org/@yoursteemitusername".

Hello and welcome to Steemit! :)
