hello Steemians.
I am fumbling around, trying to work this new platform out, it looks interesting and am determined to succeed at it. Who am I? A slightly dotty 55 year old living in a beautiful part of southern Africa, and watching it being slowly ruined, bit by bit, every day. I have recently ended a lifelong hobby of mosaic and ceramics- and am selling my equipment and mosaic stash presently. I love the feeling of clearing out the junk. Minimalism is my goal but I have a long, long way to go still. I am experimenting with oil paintings and fabric recycling to keep my creative side satisfied. I find it difficult to be creative unless I am feeling peaceful and happy. Unfortunately these occasions seem increasingly rare- lately it feels like my 'creative energy tap' is only partially open. My 31yr old son has returned home last week, penniless and in debt -and is driving me completely batty after a few days. Husband and I had emptied the art studio and turned it into a comfortable separate flat for him. I hope he doesn't stay there for too long- that he gets snapped up by a sugar mommy needing a young good looking man flopping about HER house. One good thing is presence might be helpful- allowing us to leave home and have a short break away. We haven't had a holiday for years and years- the cost of living in a holiday town- (holidays don't apply to self employed residents) I manage my husband's plumbing business as well as the rentals of a beautiful cottage on a secluded beach nearby. It has been in family for 5 generations and we have a half share in it. In our spare time we are involved in the drive to legalize cannabis in South Africa - we were recruited to this cause after my husband was arrested - we were raided at home 3 years ago- because of cannabis in our garden.
