STEEMIT INFO FOR NEWBIES (2017 IN RECAP)

in introduceyourself •  7 years ago  (edited)

Joining steemit this year open my eyes to several opportunities and it's keeps getting better by the day. These recap is done majorly to help the minnows, not because I am not one but maybe because I have learnt a few lessons that I might want them to understand that will accelerate their move up the ladder here.

First and foremost, I am an advocate of true humanity through our actions and living for others, thanks to @surpassinggoogle for giving so much insight on this.

If you are viewing this post as a minnow, you most likely have your account approved and you are ready to soar. It is normal if you have a lot of questions in your mind, we all did when we got here and riding on the shoulders of some great guys like @surpassinggoogle and @tojukaka helped solve a lot of puzzles. I wish to run through some steps that might be of great help especially for those of you just joining the beautiful platform. They are not mechanical and so you can find your way around them.

STEPS

ONE

Familiarize yourself with the platform as much as you can, that could be in days or maybe a week. Get used to the icons and what everything means. Learn about tags, wallet, comments, replies etc. Be sure to save your password when you are confirmed though because we do not have password recovery yet on steemit. Take note of this point please.

TWO

Join smaller groups around you. For example, if you are in Nigeria, there are several whatsapp groups you can join that have great guys who are always willing to help out in giving vital information about what steemit really entails. A growing community as this goes viral through meetups and organizing events like reaching out to the less privileged through generated funds from this platform. Some of the guys you can follow are @tojukaka, @ewuoso, @samstickkz, @ejemai, @gbenga, @honourmaus and many more. Its a growing community and the bond between everyone is still very strong and not location bound. So wherever you are, follow this guy's and get acquainted with how things go around here in Nigeria.

Note: A journey traveled in isolation will end up in desolation

THREE

Participate in contests, for example you have an ongoing contest that will not only reward you but revive the humanity in you and push you to doing good and more good for the society. Follow @surpassinggoogle right away and check out his last #untalented-adjustments post. You will thank me later

FOUR

Attend meetups as many as you can. Wherever and whenever,it puts you on the advantaged side of meeting people, socializing and growing in the community really fast

FIVE

Write quality content. Curator always look out for good content. So, do yourself good by writing good contents

SIX

Lol. Final step. Follow steps 1,2,3, 4 and 5. Thank me later
