Alaskan Ski Adventure - 18 days living on a Glacier

in introduceyourself •  7 years ago  (edited)

This April  five of us were flown out to a glacier in the Alaska Range with the goal of climbing mountains and skiing the steep, spine terrain Alaska is known for. This was a dream trip for us.

We planned for 20 days, but you need a weather window for the plane to come pick you up. We were quite lucky with over half the days clear enough to ski (a professional company was in this same area a different year and had a storm which confined them to the tent for 17 days.)

Happy to answer any questions you may have.

This is my first steemit post, any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I hope to continue to share adventures (skiing, hang gliding, kayaking etc.)

Hi, @Powderhound100, I'm just here to leave a nice Hello ^^. Unfortunately i don't have much voting power, but i will be back and vote my followers. Need to grow a little ^^. Have a great time @rightuppercorner

Thanks for posting, however your pics are not showing.
There are a few tutorials around on how to do it if you need them
I find it a bit weird the way it works.

Hmm that is weird. It was working at first. Not sure if I somehow deleted it when I was editing. Either way should be back now.

Very cool, I'm jealous!!

BTW Don't forget to read up on "keys" & passwords.
Basically don't log in with your "master key"
Use your private posting key.

TL,DR: You should have ALREADY saved your PASSWORD that was used to generate your keys
Next go to Profile >Wallet > Permissions and copy paste all FIVE keys to a safe place.
(eg a text file on a memory stick)
The “OWNER” key is the ‘master key’, keep it VERY safe
Daily logins for posting should use your Private POSTING key.
Once you have copies saved, log out and log back in with USERNAME & your POSTING key
Hope that helps some.
