Positive Psychology

Hi Steemit! In this post that I will describe next, I will base it on one of the psychological perspectives that I like most, such as positive psychology. This basically seeks to take the positive side of events that may be happening in your life, this gives the subject a new way to deal with any situation in their life. For me it is particularly about seeing life in a different way, not focusing on the problems but on the possible solutions of these and having strategies for when these problems come to us not to let them collapse but to take the best advantage of them. This theory seeks to strengthen the potential of the subject, as are all kinds of positive emotions (love, happiness, optimism) with the purpose of treating those negative emotions such as anxiety, depression, stress, and others.

Positive psychology takes into consideration a very important term such as "Resilience", which is the ability of a person to face or overcome a traumatic event in the life of a person.

Now I am going to tell you 2 cases in which you can see this ability to resilience:

The first one was in abnormal psychology classes and the teacher begins to explain what resilience is, a classmate interrupts and exposes her case, she had been kidnapped for a period of one month in which she suffered abuses and physical abuse which marked her life as a traumatic and significant event, she explains that at the beginning after being delivered to her family those first days she did not want to go out, the noise bothered her and seeing strange people caused her a feeling of discomfort, nowadays she goes out,
She studies, meets new people and leads a life almost within normality, her only detail is that as a result of that terrible experience she has suffered from panic attacks, where she does not know where or when this will happen, but from In the same way, she has decided to take her life and confront this traumatic event, taking it as part of the past and has decided to fully live her present.

The second case is that of a psychiatric patient, for the confidentiality effect we are going to call it L.E., L.E. is a patient who is 34 years old who was abducted and sexually abused at 14 years old by a subject from her neighborhood, this patient has decided to block this event and immerse herself in a world of absolute fantasy, she has no idea why she is hospitalized in the psychiatric, and she forgot that this event now has hallucinations in which she narrates that she is the virgin Mary and that no one can hurt her,
L.E. explains that she has seen the devil and that he smells formaldehyde.
These two cases I am telling you so that you can observe how two people can live a similar situation and face it in totally different ways, this is possible due to the capacity of resilience that each person has.

In the following post I will tell you about my experience at the Psychiatric Hospital of Maracaibo. So you know, let's learn to see the positive side of events, that problems leave us learning not defeat!
