I used to run a blog that averaged 500 daily visitors...

..And barely made a cent. It was a punk rock music blog called RisingFist.com. I gave it up a few years back after spending so much time on it without any return on investment. Granted, it started off as a labor of love, but eventually I grew to I've always longed for the day I could make a living publishing content me and a small segment of the populace loved as well. I'm not greedy, I don't need a lot of money. But zero dollars was not something I could deal with for long. I tried what seemed like everything to monetize that blog, to no avail.

Fast forward to 2016, and now we have Steemit.com. I personally made $500+ publishing my first article. This absolutely blew my mind. I never made this much money with one article.

My name is Steve Longoria and I live in Phoenix, AZ. I've been obsessed with web based technology since I was a young teenager. This obsession has moved on to include all things related to Bitcoin and the blockchain as well.

I recently read the book Sacred Economics which has had a huge impact on my life. You can read a review of the book here.

When I'm not reading about web development & tech, I play drums in 2 bands; Summer Brain and Jade Helm! You should totally check them out. I'm super excited to be going on a small California tour at the end of this month. Jade Helm is playing San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

I also just recently tried launching a new business that focuses on delivering fresh, locally roasted coffee beans to folks in downtown Phoenix on bicycle. It's called SPOKES&BEANS! If you happen to live in downtown Phoenix, order a bag of the finest coffee beans you can imagine at http://spokesbeans.com.
