in introduceyourself •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hi, my name is Paul Brown, Im a professional web developer, specialising in HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, PHP & MySQL, Im also a big believer in cryptocurrencies, and I can see them changing our lives forever in the not so distant future.
Today Im going to start a new course on steemit, for anyone interested in learning how to program in javascript, starting with Javasript - The Basics.
Who's the course for?
Anyone who has ever fancied learning  to program in javascript, the aim of the course is to teach Javascript to people who have no knowledge at all about Javascript at all, a complete beginners guide to programming in this great language.

Why Javascript?
in 2016/2017 Javascript has exploded, and is now more popular than ever before, there are some great new frameworks out there such as Angular, React & Vue, which we may touch on as the course progresses, but before you learn these great frameworks, I aim to teach you how to program in Vanilla Javascript, a term used for plain Javascript.

What do I need to follow the course?
You can get started with nothing more than your browser, but heres a list of things that will help you get more from the course.

  1. Text Editor (Atom.io, Sublime Text, Visual Studio Code)
  2. Modern browser (chrome, firefox, safari)
  3. A thirst for new knowledge.
  4. Internet access :)

And thats all you need, Follow me and learn how to program in Javascript, with bite sized lessons each and every day. First lesson: Hello World

Lesson 1 : See the magic

As you are new to steemit and it can be hard for newcomers to boost their steem power so my advice would be to give @MinnowPowerUp a go as you can earn up to 30% more steem power than just powering up! It's a subscription based daily upvote bot that draws its power from a delegation pool. I also recently made this post explaining my experience with it in more depth while earning over $1 per day in upvotes.

Great I'll follow you to learn JavaScript the

Welcome to Steemit Paul. Good to have you here.

I've been studying Javascript since April of this year. I've made progress, but I'm not as far along as I'd like. For me, the big turning point was when I understood and could use "for loops" and the built-in .forEach method on arrays.

I followed you and I look forward to your future posts.
