Introduction things: Theory of Beginnings

in introduceyourself •  8 years ago

Introductions always take it out of me. What do I say about myself? My name? My gender? My work? I consider myself a hunk of matter? Or just the psyche or soul whatever you call it these days, encapsulated within an institution made of cells. Or is it atoms!

You see where I am going with this?

My brain is a cobweb of compartments and various personalities and none of them agree with each other. Like one of my personalities is asking me to shut the hell up as I type and make it short.

So to make this short, I am a female homo sapien who loves to observe and has a love for writing. What do I write? Anything! Sometimes it's a random thought and sometimes it's something that kept me awake nights on nights. Much like this intro. It is difficult for me to come out on this platform and talk freely because that's like coming out of this web into the real world and make real sentences out of things which in my brain look a lot like matrices in the matrix series. Awesome movie by the way.

You could either completely ignore me or embark on this weird ass journey with me just for the hell of it.

Now, I'm a very credit giving kind of person. In keeping with that, the credit for this goes to a person who seems to think that the information in my neurons makes sense and that people should know about this. Thus, if you end up loathing me it's her fault, not mine.

I shall whine, rant, weep, make you laugh, maybe laugh on you, maybe make you rethink what you never thought could be challenged and many more things!

I don't like to brag but I'm a huge geek. Wait, are geeks even in trend right now? Kidding, I know we rule the freakin' world! My favorite things are ogling at pictures of universe like the rings on the surface of sun because that's so hot! Or drooling over northern lights.. Ah aurora. I often find myself submerged in one or the other book. And it doesn't even have to be a great literature piece like The Wuthering Heights or Jane Austen or Harry Potter (Yes, I think Harry Potter is a great literature piece, so sue me if you don't like it). Other than that I like to randomly start stating fun facts about science to my very dear @sjennon to which she gives me a "I don't know what the hell you are talking about but since I care about you I'm just gonna smile and nod"-look. Not that it'll ever make me stop.

But on a more serious note, I have been a person whose favorite leisure activity is to analyze and observe the world as it is. Philosophy and art are really close to my heart. And of them all, writing is the thing that gave me my salvation.

Words are my home. When I'm at my lowest or highest, whether I'm in knee deep shit or on cloud nine, writing is the thing I run to. It comforts me, soothes me.

While I have been writing for a really long time it's when I came to Europe that I realized that I should add my voice to my words.

I found out about Steemit through my very dear friends @sjennon and @firepower who have contributed here in past. And I had the direct update on the happenings of their recent event in Amsterdam, all your posts, all the articles. It seemed so much more like a family, working together than just an organization. The earnestness of the writers and their fecundity really intrigued me a lot. I couldn't possibly after that keep my thoughts to myself. I could keep going on but I don't think it's time yet to show all my true colors (boring you to death). Just kidding (no I'm not). Yes I am.

@firepower, @sjennon and me at the Weihnachtsmarkt on Alexanderplatz, Berlin.

Well we will just see about that won't we! I obviously won't end this expounding without quoting Stephen Jay Gould because it's just so damn appropriate here.

"We are storytelling animals, and cannot bear to acknowledge the ordinariness of our daily lives."

welcome steemit @things :)

I had the direct update on the happenings of their recent event in Amsterdam, all your posts, all the articles. It seemed so much more like a family, working together than just an organization.

That's pretty cool hehe, I felt the same way looking at the Amsterdam pics and footage. Was really heart-warming. I bet no other cryptocurrency "meet-ups" have been the same way.

Yes that is so true. I was so jealous, every night getting texts from them as to how happy they are. It turned so much more into a fest than just a meet-up. God I wish I could have gone. Also thank you so much for the warm welcome.

God I wish I could have gone.

Haha I feel the same way. We have to make sure not to miss Steemfest 2.0! :D
