How to grow money

The common saying is "money does not grow on trees". This is true of fiat currency but looking at it differently from the digital currency perspective, I just discovered the secret of how to grow money. Here's my story:

I am an IT enthusiast and eBayer. I first heard of Bitcoin in 2012 when a programmer friend was discussing about it at a tea party. I overheard it in the passing without paying any sort of focused attention. Later on in 2016. I posted a TED video about the 'Future of Money' by Neha Narula, a director of research at the MIT Digital Currency Initiative. This sort of introduced me to the world of bitcoin/cryptocurrency. Yet, the idea hasn't sung into me as things were still far fetched. I didn't take it seriously.

Mid 2017 was the global reawakening period for Bitcoin and altcoins. Suddenly everyone was talking about Bitcoin and in general, cryptocurrency. At the same time, my visiting mother-in-law talked us through how she's invested in an altcoin and hoped to reap its fruits months later just like the analogy in the adage "money don't grow on trees". Being quite sceptical about idea, which seem too good to be true, my wifey and I began to research the particular altcoin in which my mother-in-law had invested. We got so curious about how such small investment could reap that much ROI within a short period.

My Quest for cryptocurrency

My research within the last month took me on a dive into the deep zone of cryptocurrencies. I have gone through countless of articles, blogs and documents. I have watched hours of videos about Bitcoin and altcoins. I have looked at various ways of laying my hands on my first set of coins (games, faucets, mining, fiat/token exchange). While navigating my way around creating a wallet and buying my first altcoin, a YouTuber turned Steemit enthusiast got me glued on to his videoes about Steemit even though it was over an hour long each (probably the longest YouTube video I've actually watched at a go). This chap is Jerry Banfield. He talks with such enthusiasm that makes you want to get things started straightaway to test his 'hypothesis'.

We talked about growing money on trees earlier. This is exactly what minners do in the world of digital currency. The build a farm (or rig) and get rewarded. This is just too technical for many non-techy, ordinary people like you and I. Without much of dollars (or other fiat currencies at your disposal), it is quite difficult to get into crypto.

The Good News

Having done tones of research around cryptocurrency and with the influence of Jerry Banfield, I have just discovered my own farm where I can grow money in cryptocurrency. The journey begin with Steem and I hope this will get me into other altcoins and eventually the father-of-all, Bitcoin. With Steemit, you get paid for what you normally do on other social media platforms for almost no reward. In addition, Steemit also gives you the unrivalled advantage of getting into the world of cryptocurrency and even let you have stocks in the decentralised steem economy.

Watch out for my upcoming post on my areas of interest: travel, cryptocurrency, landscape photography etc.
