Greetings, Steemit!

Steemit is certainly a lot different from the other social media. Wow! :-) I’ll be interested to see where this leads.

I work as a freelance translator and editor. Over the years, I’ve written hundreds of thousands of words. Many of them were printed between the covers of books or published online. And yet none of those texts—while creative in a sense—represented my own thoughts. You can read samples here at www.philipschmitz.com.

The Chinese say, “Even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” I’ve decided to get underway modestly by searching out and posting quotes that resonate with me. I don’t reshare work from other sites but collect images and tailor the posts myself.

My goals are to keep growing, stay inspired and motivated, and cultivate a positive, optimistic frame of mind. Although life is rich and there is much to enjoy, extremely difficult situations do arise. I’ve learned more about that than I would have preferred. Perhaps the perspectives I present will be helpful in some small way.
