This is me

My name is Jared Allen, I'm probably different than any other person you've ever met. This can be explained by the fact that I live on a bus 365 days out of the year and have done so for 20 years! More than that, I am a writer and introvert by nature, causing life as a traveling musician to be very interesting.

I'll be blogging here routinely. This is a post to get you introduced and acclimated to me; because a single concentrated dose may prove fatal. So, I'm going to warm you up to me in this post.

Hello!

Today we're going to talk, (well, I'm going to talk, you're going to read), about perspective. Perspective is the position from which you view life. I'm going to use an allegory, just so you don't get disoriented or anything. Here it is:

There are four men who go to a high school football game. The first man is the coach and stands on the sidelines calling plays. The second man is an announcer, he is up in the press box behind a microphone. The third is a spectator watching from the bleachers, and the fourth is a player on the field.

Now, each of these four men will view the game from different angles, distances, and in different speeds: that's called perspective, (there's that word again).

I have a unique perspective on life, it's a combination of my different personalities: homschooler, conservative, traveler, musician, writer, and introvert. I have the singular purpose in writing of using the force of a person's own will to cause them to view the world as it is, not as the world wants itself to be viewed. I want people to see life as it should be, not as they wish it to be.

If I can shift your perspective 180°, I will have turned your world upside down. That's the fun of life! Changing the way people look at things is how I get my charge.

Perspective is an interesting thing... the perspective of the world is so prevalent. The media, the music, the news, and the government all seem to be pushing their own warped agenda upon us. The Christian realm uses a different word for perspective, they call it worldview; essentially meaning: the way you view the world.

It is essential to the way we live our lives to come at life from the proper perspective. With all of the people and entities trying to push their point of view upon us, we need to see life for what it is.
