Hello all on Steemit. I joined the site almost a year ago and this is my first post. As you can see, I am a procrastinator, but more importantly, I hate social media. I have had a few of my own blogs before on different subjects, particularly in college, but I haven't done anything recently. A life-long friend suggested the site because in his opinion it was the best of both worlds, and, "you(meaning me,) have a lot of good things to say." However, when I joined it said my first post should be an introduction, and what remotely intelligent person actually enjoys talking about themselves to a bunch of strangers? I've always stood by, "stupid people talk about themselves and others, average people talk about things and events, smart people talk about ideas." So here I am, finally attempting to introduce myself.
Like everyone else, I am always changing and discovering new interests. I guess that the best introduction, instead of trying to describe myself, would be some background? Let us begin.
27(almost) year-old female from New England. WAHM, he is 6 months old and miles ahead of the curve. Editor, Writer, Record store owner. I write everything from Academic Journals to fiction novels and lyrics for my incredibly talented musician fiancé. I have been submitting resumes to attempt to do travel writing as well. I am 3/4 of the way through my degree, double major-English and History. It is incomplete because shortly after I moved in with my fiancé he was injured and had to make a (daytime) career change, meaning I had to take some time off school to work. What goes around comes around though, as now I get to stay home with my baby all day and work on my writing and finishing that degree. I always saw myself growing up to be a world traveler, but as of yet I have only been to China, Japan, Canada, and of course, since I was born there, the US. I thought I would be backpacking the US this year, but it was put on hold until my son is a little older and can join me. Backpacking the US sounds strange, I admit, but everyone does Europe and I would like to see my own country first. However, we are saving up for a honeymoon to hike Kerry Way, with a one day shortcut across the Ring of Kerry to get to the beach. If you don't know what I am talking about, look it up. It is incredible. After the 10 days it should take for that, we will explore the rest of Ireland, then the UK. Overall, it should be a 2 month trip. Lots of fun!
I guess that gives a brief background on me plus a few of my current goals and aspirations. I guess if there is more you want to know you will just have to read my future posts. They could be anything I suppose. Ideas, tidbits of my writing, or I might share something I've learned that others might like to know. I do like to share information as it solidifies it in my memory. We will see what happens.
