Wait what?!? So, if I understood this correctly, Steem will not be anymore a blockchain by its own, but will be part of the Tron blockchain? Basically Steem is shutting down and the content is moving to another blockchain, or will its development continue on the same project?

The new owner of SteemIt incorporated, TRON / Justin Sun, did cause a bit of confusion. There were some claims on Medium and Twitter that Steem(It) would move over to the TRON realm (blockchain), dApps and Token at least, ASAP.
Mister Sun did put coal on the fire himself on Twitter. Removed his Tweet a while later though.
The LINO blockchain, home of dLive, is moving over to TRON, April 15th 2020, so apparently it can be done, in that particular case.
Now there is confusion, for the many. There is a claim being made for instance that it would be impossible to data-mine the Steem blockchain and put in on TRON. It might seem improbable, but it is very well possible, I am convinced about that.
But, for now. Things will move on like they did. It is just SteemIt Incorporated that has a new owner. The Steem Blockchain is owned by nobody though. But, with TRON / Justin Sun getting hold of a lot of Steem Power, that could surely make a difference. Though mister Sun seems not to handle such a way of working. He seems quite honorable.
Steem, as a blockchain can move on as a substantive blockchain, even if eventually SteemIt 2.0 would move over to the TRON network. So either way, Steem, the blockchain, will move on as intended.
It will be interesting to see how this develops.
